LOL @ bullshit

There is no FISION. There was supposed to be FISION to 1.8 million people in November 2005.. where is that? removed See Profile was supposed to be able to get FISION, what happened to that?

FISION is like sega's set top box. FISION is like the Rio Chroma MP3 player. FISION is like firmware for ID3 tag databases on the iAudio X5. FISION is nonsensical vaporware that'll never be served to everyone.

When you hire people like CO_Chris See Profile posting "pic's"(not pics - pic's) of FISION, you can only expect so much. As can be seen here »fision Internet/ tv / Dig phone it took nearly a year after the service was supposed to be deployed to 1.3-1.8 million people to get proof it existed!

FISION was good for a free t-shirt, and nothing more.

This report, which notes they've found gamers think 15Mbps is the sweet spot, has more detail.
What kind of nonsense is that? 15 mbps for gaming? You can game just fine on 1.5/384, it's all about the latency. You can even host a game on 5/2 mbps, with good latency, maybe much less.

quote:
Their website (which lacks price details; we've inquired)
Of course it lacks detail. It's vaporware - vaporware always lacks detail. Ask the aforementioned companies, they all lacked detail and communication, and look where their products ended up.

40HD

40HD and symmetrical speeds sound great. I wish we had that sort of service around here.

Re: LOL @ bullshit

Not to mention, they're calling it all wrong. According to many around here, ALL fiber connections are FiOS anyway, right?

The other thing about this fizzle service is, and I'm going to bet, it's alot like most smaller operations. It most likely comes with a small cap (SureWest, one of the first fiber to the home services in the country from WinFirst now Roseville Telephone Co aka Surewest, is 40gig monthly - Woohoo!)

15mb is the gamers sweet spot? How about good latency at 56k? But I see you already mentioned that.. just wanting to basically agree with you.

And... no phone number? You have to communicate through a website webform? Do I live there? No... am I pointing out some obvious bull? Yes.

40 gigs? You have got to be kidding, I uploaded near that mark a month when I had 768/128 kbps.. that's a total joke.

Yeah, sadly those symmetrical FTTH services in Utah suffer from the same ailment....great speed that you can't actually use.

Before they launched they said it would have unlimited bandwidth and uptime, whether they still promise that.. I don't know.

slow, limited deployment?

If they're going to offer upto 100mbit which guarantees either low subscriber per node and/or Gigabit Node infrastructure, why start at 10/10? shouldn't it start at around 25/25? Gpon can get well into the hundreds of megabits and they want to start at 10? sheesh.. cablecos can do this with docsis 1.1 or 2.0 already.

This is symmetrical though, so it also has 10mbit upload. You don't often see dsl/cable companies with symmetrical speeds. And since it's symmetrical that means you can most likely download at 10mbit while uploading at 10mbit for a total of 20mbits. IMO, I'd rather have 10/10 than 15/2 for example.

what you expect 10/10 for 10 usd a month please.

10 a month? Where in the world did you get that? I'm not sure of the price for internet alone, but you can get 10/10 with IPTV and Internet phone for around 100. Being I can't get dsl or cable I pay 100 for just 128k internet, so 100 for 10/10 would be a bargain. But I've read earlier they'd sell 10/10 alone for around 40-60, that's a damn good deal IMO.

Deployed?

Ok..so im confused here...is Fision already deployed to people? Because i haven't seen any reviews of this company on here yet.

@rr.com

Call them!

I just got off the phone with them. If anyone wants to call them the number is on this page.

Kara told me that it is only available in four subdivisions in NW Houston and that any expansion beyond this won't happen until the end of the year at the earliest.

Re: LOL @ bullshit

I read that SureWest has recently raised the cap on their 20 and 50Mbps speeds to more reasonable levels. And I also speak from experience when I say that they don't monitor the usage (atleast in my area) whatsoever. I think they have these bandwidth caps in place so that if they have a trouble customer, Surewest will have something in writing that allows them to charge more or suspend service if necessary.

Re: Call them!

Yipes, guess I'm sticking with AT&T U-verse for now then.
Unless I can convince them to string 35 or 40 miles worth of fiber.

I think it's safe to say that this service probably won't expand passed those few houses/complexes even after a year. Probably just service the same ol' areas Eagle Broadband did.
