Microsoft has been pushing to get into the living room for a long long time now. The best way they could was to start up a video game system then push for it to be the media center box. They are not all about gaming but the push of content into the living room. They truly did a good job though of coming up with a video game system(pc basically) that caught on very quick. The controller and Halo I think set it all off. This was all a matter of time after the failed webtv attempt. I think it is good that Sony has a serious competitor. I truly wish Nintendo which is all about the gaming would get a system up to par on graphics and storage capacity so it doesn't get lost in this media center show which should be all about the gaming.
Also I hope this IPTV that Microsoft is releasing is not the same as the software ATT is deploying in their IPTV boxes. Since many of the early beta testers couldn't handle the bugs and decided to go back to regular cable.

I dont honestly see what people are complaining about here. If this truly works as an alternative to my cable, then why wouldnt I use it? Now on the other hand, if this is simply a way to play canned videos and such using an Xbox, then its a waste of time. My computer is already connected to my TV so this needs to offer something more. I am looking for an excuse to buy a new video game console however.......

It's better then any monitor I've ever owned. 1920x1080. there are about 16 monitors on the market that do better, the 24's only by 120 on the Y, the 27's, and the 30's. |

I thought I got that across but maybe i didnt stress it. i don't want to see them go on the wayside like sega due to sony, thats all i am saying.

1 edit | 6 months ago MS hit my xbox thinking it was modded. 2 days on and off the phone with them. Ms told me mine was modded i told them no it wasnt. To make a long story short when they got it it was still factory sealed and i got a year warranty on the unit from them from there screw up. .
Now the wife bought a POS 360 and it locks up. She bought the first one home hard drive was bad.

I was almost certain that the pixel count was way lower than my monitor, and text was real hard to read (even when I was sitting monitor distance).

I think the Wii is still the highest selling console of the three in regards to weekly sales. It totally killed both Xbox and PS3 in sales during the holidays and it doesn't seem to let up. While Nintendo's GameCube lagged in sales probably because it was essentially a "me too" system that didn't have a DVD player the Wii proves that innovation will get you places. |
