I love how even though customers don't even have their hands on the product, the iPhone is already "THE" phone to beat in the minds of many. That's just incredible.
Even better, the number of iPhone-killers that are already popping up for that product that hasn't even worked its way into consumers' hands. |

Any phone that can buy music online is an iphone killer. You just won't see them kill the iphone until the EU deems drm illegal and makes it possible to use itunes to purchase music for any phone or mp3 player. |

Actually if you visit the Mac forum, you'll see that there are very few that are going to buy one outright.
I, for one, am going to take it home and use it and if it doesn't do what I want (and saw in person at Macworld in Jan.), I'll return it, get my money back and wait for a later version.
Every phone (about 3 phones) that I've tried has suck-ass interaction with my Mac and if this iPhone can do what it touts--I'm there, end of story. YMMV.

To me it seems like the iPhone killed itself by being so underwhelming. Maybe I am missing something but it really doesn't seem that great. |

Actually there are a large number of Windows users that own iPods... so either they don't think iPods over priced, or they like to waste their money... oh wait they are Windows users! |

He said the interoperability with the Mac is key. None of the copies offer that tight integration thus far.

I wonder if I can make phone calls with it. That would be cool!
I think I will develop a $600 coffee cup. I'll call it the iCup. It will have a LCD clock and radio and about 500 other features. I will have to make room for that so will have to compromise on the coffee capacity. |

but what about improving actual call reception? Seems unless you're living straight in downtown, most of these technologically advanced phones have increasingly worthless reception. Even a quad-band GSM phone like the Moto v551 I am currently stuck with is near impossible for making, taking or placing a call inside my own house, or any house for that matter.
Not to discredit the value of such features if they work, but what good is it to have a wireless phone at any price if you can't even do the most basic feature it should allow you to do?
