 What the Hell.....

Humans can achieve a data transfer rate of 25.6 Terabits per second, but not make a vehicle that can travel at the speed of light? BOOOOOO!!!

Amazing stuff I must say!

 Hmm

Where do they come up with all the data to test these speeds in the first place. They must just randomly generate garbage to send.

Actually you may not be too far off. From what I remember in my IT classes my freshman year of college, when testing "Internet2" speeds, (our campus, Stephen F. Austin University, is one of the members), they would send uncompressed versions, or equivalents, of the entire Library of Congress.

I just wonder what is "serving" the data that gets sent though a pipe like that! I don't think hard drives can keep up with that flow of data.

Thats why you cache it in memory. Heck, some 1998 vintage SGI systems could have cached over 1TB in main memory - gotta figure that, nearly a decade later, cache-capacities have gone way up.

You are thinking about cable. FIOS is not capped. How many hours of porn on 600 DVDs?
