| Whats so hard about REV A on a mobile fone
I can see why don't really care about it. Your text emails are going to get beamed up a sec faster. I don't really know anyone who uses a moblog.
Maybe it drains battery life faster or something. Rev A sped things way up on my PC card. Don't know how much better it would do for my mobile telephone unit. |

I have the verizon 700 w which i quite like. It could use some improvements like wifi, sound recorder like palm os and MORE MEMORY but it works good. I do miss the palm os. the 680s do look and feel pretty cool, and the update the the palm OS is long overdue, as well as cobalt os 6. -- www.LakeSemaJ.com |

Some people connect their laptops to their phones and get on the net that way instead of using a PC card.

680 without the palm os improvements of it. The 755 better not have the password blocked out problem the 680 has with goodlink installed. -- www.LakeSemaJ.com |

WHich of the Psrint phones are EVDO Rev A enabled? A real shame that Palm didn't bother to upgrade the 755P.
The 6700 is only Rev 0 I believe. Similar for the Motorola Q. Dunno about the 700WX though? |

| All Sprint phones with Ev-DO are Rel. 0. The first phone with Rev. A should be the PPC-6800. It was rumored to be out May 14 (so next week) and shipping with Windows Mobile 5 and Ev-DO Rel. 0 with there later being an upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 and Ev-DO Rev. A released later.
Currently though, there is another rumor that the release date has been pushed back to the very latest in October to have the phone ship with Windows Mobile 6 and Ev-DO Rev. A.
But yeah, all Ev-DO phones currently carried by sprint have Ev-DO Rel. 0. |

What happens when someone tries to call you? Will you still get data and voice? |

| said by wifi4milez :No, when someone calls the data call ends. When you hang up it generally re-instates itself however. I have a Sanyo 7500 (EVDO) phone provisioned as a modem. It does not end the data session when you get a call. The call goes to voice mail. It tells you calls can't be received when in datamode when you connect it to your PC and go with the modem mode. Maybe it's just my model/brand of phone that does this. I've used Vision phones in the past and remember it doing the same thing. |

Some of the older EVDO phones do send the call to voicemail instead of ending the data call. Most newer phones (or PPC devices) will now end the data call so that your call can get through. Personally, I am not sure how I feel about this "upgrade" given that if you are in the middle of a video stream or using a VPN your connection gets the boot when a call comes in! At the end of the day YMMV based on the phone you have. -- я люблю Денди! |

| Too bad it's not a "option" that the customer can modify. When I had the 7300 (sister to the 7500) I was able to get into the "speed" settings and bump up the default 144kps to 230. Some features, like "do not disturb" while on a data call would be nice.. |

| The new firmware for all WM5 phones automatically ends the data call. If you buy any PPC phone these days you have no choice. I personally would rather have the option to chose, but hey, some things are already "decided" for us these days. -- я люблю Денди! |
