It's sad that the capital city of Ohio, Columbus, has to wait till Dec 24. And it will be funny to watch all the at&t tech's trying to access the VRADS have we have had a big snow and the cabnet doors wont open, should be very enertaining. |

Now, if only they can provide two DVRs. I don't need a third receiver, I just want two DVRs. -- WedgeAntilles250

Yeah, I'm 200 ft. from a VRAD! and all I see is a straight line tap to the NSA when I look at it (and some cheap SOBs who think I'll be impressed by copper VDSL ) -- Instant bugging and GPS location info -- thanks to your cell phone and Bush's warrantless NSA! |

Why would anyone want a DVR when VCRs and DVD-R's exist. |

1 edit | this is just silly
Every time I read about U-VERSE, I shudder. It's just such a half-asked project...
-6/1 is the top speed tier. Customers are getting 25mb/sec in total bandwidth for TV and internet. Why can't they make that dynamic...allowing unused bandwidth when the TVs are off to go to the internet speed? That would make it a little better, but not the best. Not even close. Cox is already offering at least 2x that speed here in Oklahoma City. -Only 1 HD stream. Period, plain and simple...there is NO excuse for this. The other guys have been offering multiple HD streams for years now. Rolling out a product that can't even stream more than 1 HD channel at a time is absurd. -Inferior HD picture quality. The compression they are using to squeeze all this into 25mbps of bandwidth is really, really poor.
I could go on. No wonder the take rate for the UVERSE areas is so low! AT&T can't even get it right on their FTTP customers, much less FTTN. |

It will take time to work the bugs out, but it will be worth it. I just wish i could find out if they will offer it where i live in indep. mo. Would be nice to try the service and see if it is worth the money. |

August 20!
We'll see. I wonder what part of Sacramento will get it first.
Competition is good. Either U-verse will succeed or not, it'll still be a competition as far as Comcast is concerned. They better improve their service or lower (roll eyes) the price.
It's a win-win situation for consumers/customers. --

| it says OKC launch in August. Either AT&T has done a most excellent job at hiding the VRADS (unlikely), or they are only rolling it to a VERY Select area here in NW OKC. that's the only place (besides Edmond, [rich people]) that I'm seeing any VRADs. OKC's a big place...I wonder how many homes will have it available on that launch date? -- -Put this in your profile if you know someone who is fighting, has survived, or died from ninja attacks. |

Novi, Farminton Hills isn't bad either. Just don't go south of 8 mile at night... the streets aren't even lit up (or at least wasn't when I was last there). The 'Subway' restaurant on Telegraph/4 mile had glass similar to most banks with a turnstile for your sub. First time I've ever seen it in a Subway - usually just a sneeze guard will do.
When I asked, they stated all the stores in the plaza have been held up. I grabbed my lunch and left... quickly. |
