There are 6 companies that basically you can choose from but they all really suck. My cable modem gets faster connetion than fios through Homenetnw.net (former Vib.tv).

It is the companies that screw up connecting users to the pipeline of the internet. So shop around and forget contracts, talk to neighbors and see who is using what and why.
