| I don't see it in Bellsouth country
I checked through bellsouth.com for the Atlanta area and they only have 768k / 128k for $19.95. No thanks. I'd rather hold on to my Comcast 6000k/384k for $33 a month for the next year. -- The only place where Success comes before Work is in the dictionary. |

I see nothing at att.com or bellsouth.com that mentions any price other than $19.95(+ $75 cash back if ordered soon) for the 768/128 tier.
And AT&T put out a news release yesterday that quotes the $19.95 deal. NOTHING on a $10 option. »www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=4···id=23960 -- -- Internet News My BLOG My Web Page |

The story states it isn't advertised anywhere. It is probably one of those deals that you have to call up and ask specifically for this deal. |

| Dear FCC and FTC is this what lobbying buys?
So they introduce the plan at their leisure.
They don't make it readily available.
They say it's for "new customers" only.
And you don't make them stick to it for more than 2.5 years.
Why bother? Why didn't you say, "do it now, and make a plan that is forever and costs 50% of the cost of your mid-tier plan"?
That's ok we understand... it's tough making tough deals when you are wined and dined by these corporations.
Let's just spend tax payers money to break up the monopoly and then spend tax payers money all over again to "oversee" it's rebuilding with petty short lived compromises like this one. |

@swbell.net | reply to Occasional Oh, and by the way... I thought this "deal" made with ATT was to offer DRY LINE DSL.
As in NO land line required. Is that what this $10 deal is?
Not that I can see. |

PS: Edit, if I put in a Gainesville, FL (closest Bell South to me) it comes up $19.95 for 768 tier one. They must have a sweeter deal with the FL Public Service Commission or someone in the state. Check it out, enter 352-376-xxxx on their site, which is a very old Gainesville NXX exchange.

| reply to Occasional If you read the agreement,»72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:LBL···lnk&cd=3 this is exactly what it said. To be implemented within 6 months (July 1) to continue at least 30 months. I also interpreted the $10/mo to be applied to buildout areas which as far as I know are areas that didn't previously have DSL but I am not a lawyer. |

| said by hayabusa3303 :subject says it all. I agree completely; if this was $10 a month for naked DSL, period, I think it would be an awesome deal. While I wouldn't go with it, myself, it could get a lot of people who can't afford DSL (or won't switch to it because dial-up is still cheaper, usually at $10 a month) to get it...but since you have to get the landline...meh, you might as well get their 1.5 meg tier.
Oh well....I'm sure it'll still come in handy for some people. |

what a croc. it is 15 for me. I doubt the merger conditions meant you would have strings attached. Maybe next time if they were selling cars they could sell you one car for 10,000 but you have to purchase a suv for 10,000 also. It may be reduced price but you have to buy something else.

When I went to the att.com site and clicked on the internet deals, on the bottom tight hand side there is a link that asked if I want to learn how to get DSL for dial up price. When you click on it it brings you to a screen that asks if you've had DSL in the past 12 months and if you are currently a dial up customer. I said no to both and used a relatives home TN (they don't have DSL) and it came up with all the speed tiers, including the $10 package.
