Talk about....

Tip-toeing through the tulips. Here is another area where some kind of leadership is needed, and if Washington was not so busy trying to screw each other maybe they would have time to do something about this.

RI/MPaa

The RI/MPaa lobbyists were able to pay a majority of them more than the web casters were. The ones that didn't accept money are so insignificant that they didn't even bother missing breakfast for the hearing on whether they should. And some politicians are buzy with their own problems. Like making sure that each soldier has 10k more bullets, and Each teacher in their state have 10k less dollars a year.

Such crap

Why does everything have to have a pointless middle man. Sound Exchange is such a waste.

It's USELESS!

All SoundExchange offered to do was cap the $500.00 "Per channel" fee at $2500.00 (five channels). The "Per song played" payment would NOT change. This "Deal" would ONLY benefit the big guys that have HUNDREDS of channels.

Besides, it's only for two years. Then we'd be back to the RIPOFF agreement.

What's needed is legislation like is going through Congress to make these fees similar to what EVERYONE ELSE (Radio/TV/Satellite/Jukeboxes) pay. As things stand, Internet radio will be paying more then a hundred times what over the air pays-and they have many, many more listeners.

Deal?

This reminds me of the old joke about the explorers who were captured by natives and offered two fates: "bunga-bunga", or death...by bunga-bunga...

RIAA

Our Local Ice Cream Parlor used to have a radio in their small shop until those mob thugs came and forced them to remove it. Stating that they were not allowed to re-broadcast a radio station in a commercial establishment.
