Cancelling really is impossible

Yeh, I've tried calling twice over 4 days and both times have been told they were in the middle of a system upgrade and that they could not access my account info to perform the cancellation and I was told to call back. The 2nd time I was told I could call back within 20 mins. and this was at 7:55pm EST (they close at 8pm EST). I asked about this and they said they would keep the lines open because of the situation. We'll see.....

And and sorry...this is after calling a month ago and being told it would be canceled. Now they've billed me again and so I need to cancel and try to get a refund this time around.....

Vonage isn't cheap, and their "support" is non-existent.

I think I saw two posts where people were saying "What did you expect for a bargain basement service?" Only problem with that statement is that Vonage is one of the most expensive VoIP services out there, not to mention one of the worst when it comes to customer service.

Their incompetent technical support staff were what forced me to cancel them. I was out in the middle of nowhere (closest computer was ~50 miles away) and the call forwarding had screwed up on Vonage's end. It'd forward the call to my cell, but would drop after ~15-30 seconds. Calling "technical support" was useless. They were telling me to power-cycle my router & adapter...well, great, they were 600+ miles away, UNPLUGGED already, what good is that going to do when it's Vonage's system that has a problem? I asked the rep to disable call forwarding & just let everything go to voicemail...to which he told me to go online & do it myself. Well, nice... I already told him I wasn't going to be near a computer for 3 more days. He claimed he couldn't change it (bull).

So, when I finally did get back in town, I did cancel. Waited about 45 minutes on hold. They made a few offers like a pathetic used car saleshole does as you walk off the lot, no thanks. Done with 'em & much happier with my other VoIP provider.
