| 99.99% have nothing to worry about. If you get TV over cable then you are fine.
If you get TV over satelite then you are fine.
If you get TV over FIOS then you are fine.
If you buy a new TV in the next between now and Feb 2009 you will be fine.
If you can afford the extra $20-$30 over the cost of your coupon for a digital converter box you will be fine.
If none of these apply to you then you either need to get a job or you are so old you'll be dead by Feb 2009.

| A question I realize that in Feb., 2009 over the air goes to digital and so people with analog sets using rabbit ears will need to do something, but does this impact cable customers with analog sets with no set top box? (ie: cable line just plugged into cable ready set with no digital tuner)
I'm confused as to whether cable co's at the plant will be transmitting still in analog the basic and standard tiers or whether that will immediately be going all digital as well at the same time.
I think that Comcast has already made that switch in chicago and so maybe it will be a moot point by the time 2009 rolls around anyway.
Anyways..I'm wondering what the requirements will be if a cable co. doesn't make that switch though. -- The Coyote captured the RR! Roadrunner Rick is now Comcastic!

Cable companies are choosing to switch from analog to digital because it frees up bandwidth. That extra bandwidth can be used to add more HD channels.

@comcast.net | Maybe people will just stop watching the crap on TV ? The digital shift may be good for Americans. Maybe they'll finally give up on watching the crap on TV deemed "entertainment" and get a real life?
