quote: A new study says that cable operators are focusing most of their attention on VoIP, broadband and HDTV.
I wish they would focus more on HDTV. 16 "real" HD channels on Comcast is a sad joke.
There's no real point in any cable company offering wireless services either. That market is pretty much 100% saturated with providers, so there isn't really much a new provider can offer. -- Only SHATNER is Kirk. |

The only one I can't get is National Geographic HD. All of the others on Comcast are the local channels which broadcast a HD signal over the air. Virtually none of their other content (including premium channels) is available in HD.
If I didn't live in a condo with no line of site to the south I would switch to satellite.
Oh, and regarding quadruple play, I definitely wouldn't go for it. I'm not even a triple play customer. All I have from them is cable plus internet. I make almost no long distance calls so their phone service offers me no benefit or cost savings over what I use now. I also have a good rate plan on cellular service that I don't want to give up. -- We don't care. We don't have to. We're the phone company.

linsys and Dlink have new Bluetooth enabled routers that will link to your cell phone, outside the house your cellphone will be on the cell tower network using your plan minutes, inside the house the cellphone will bluetooth to the router and use your internet connection for free unlimited voip calls. T-MOBILE is the first to offer this for $10 dollars more on your bill. »www.theonlyphoneyouneed.com Cable will need a wireless service to keep its voip customers. |

6% of 25 million isn't that small of a take rate on Triple Play. That comes out to 1.5 million customers, and that doesn't even take into account that Triple Play isn't fully available everywhere yet. Quadruple Play might not ever be a big seller, but 3P seems to be just the right amount. When home phone and cell phone convergence takes place on a large scale, quadruple play may be a better deal to many people. Until then, the cell phone portion isn't good enough to the majority of people. |

| Triple, quadruple play? No thanks.
Not when you can "a la carte" your video, data, and phone services for much cheaper. Not that shopping data and video (or cellular for that matter) can save you a whole lot, but 3rd party VoIP can be quite cheap when prepaid, and has become much more reliable over the past year. Definitely a money saver when you consider what the massive landline fees add up to. |

Same as cox. they rape you on the HD box over and above what the SD boxes are then say "we're giving you the programming free" which is just charging extra for the HD. -- You can never be too rich, too thin or have too much Bandwidth |

T-Mobile's service isn't bluetooth, it's just standard b/g wireless, but other than that, you are absolutely correct. |

They billed me for a partial month (current) plus the full fee for the next month. They were on two separate lines so I assumed they were different fees. -- We don't care. We don't have to. Is Plymouth, MI out in the sticks somewhere, miles from nowhere? I misspoke about the premium channels. I'm only subscribed to the digital starter package. To get many of those channels requires subscribing to digital classic which is more expensive.
Comcast offered me a deal that I could get digital service for the same price as analog, up to 3 STBs with remote and no increase for two years. Upon further review there is a problem with my bill. They charged me $46.48 per month for Preferred Basic (analog) and now they are charging me $48.48 for Digital Starter. I'll have to give them a call to find out why I'm being charged more in spite of the promo I signed up for. -- We don't care. We don't have to. We're the phone company.
