Comments on news posted 2007-07-30 12:50:36: A month or so ago, there was a wave of negative publicity for municipal Wi-Fi, as the mainstream press (and some towns) realized that simply throwing Wi-Fi access points around a city doesn't automatically create utopia. ..

Mullica Hill, NJ | Re: My Only Complaint i think it has its place but any muni should start small and not have it be totally free. i think the best system is 128k for free(fast enough for keeping in touch via email and such) and then for a nominal fee offer faster speeds and of course no special software and fully iPhone compatable.

| muni-wifi Well, I'm just not sure that this really is a service that should be funded (by the public tax money).
Were I live, our local county government provides free wifi at most of the local parks, government buildings, libraries, etc. yet, it is websensed/censored. Which, by definition, is Government censorship.
