@bellsouth.net

oh yes, i forgot

not to mention, does vedder not understand that as a corporation, AT&T has full 100% rights to choose what content, if any, they wish to provide to its customers? IMHO, 'tis better of AT&T to sponsor politically ambiguous content as opposed to the practices of, say, AARP, who spends their contributor's monies to support the Democratic National Committee, regardless of its customers feelings on the matter. That being said, however, AARP is full on 100% within their rights to support whomsoever they choose -- they can do what they like with their money. If you don't like a company's practices, then don't shop with them. VOTE WITH YOUR MONEY, PEOPLE!

bottom line: companies, much like individuals, have the freedom to do whatever they wish within the boundaries of the law. there's no law against a content provider editing said content.

@xo.net

ask yourself.

Why would ATT care what some band has to say about our president?

What if the message the band conveyed said, "Support Democracy in Iraq!"

(would this be subversive since it totally opposes what we are actually doing?)

Control over the media is supposed to be done to the enemy, in a war, by the CIA, to improve the chances of reaching our objective.

Instead I find it easier to believe that control over the media is being done to US, in a war, by largely UNKNOWN parties, to foster an environment sand attitude that continues to consider a war an acceptable practice and policy.

We are being, to coin a phrase, PSY-OPPED.

I'm going to go out on a limb here.

What if the videotaped kidnappings and beheadings were being staged by hooded mercenaries?

What if, in fact US 'contractors' (paid ex-military civilian security personnel) are being hired to stage insurgent attacks?

We have a history of this kind of stuff...
The US truly has hidden a lot of bad things from the public.

I hope I'm wrong...
