| Better than the NOTwork I've had 'em all and around here:
T-Blobile sucks. Go into a building and you can't get signal.
Verizon's NOTwork drops pretty frequently and has pretty poor Call Quality when you can actually connect.
Sprint is OK
NextHell is cool if you're a contractor and don't need decent service.
AT&Tingular works the most reliably.
I chuckle when I see Verizon's "Most reliable Network" BS. It sure isn't around here.

| AT&T Mobility works fine for me Let's look at the numbers: AT&T Mobility - 63.7 Million subscribers in service Verizon - 62.1 Million Sprint - 53.6 Million T Mobile - 26.9 Million
Those numbers tell me that AT&T is doing more things right then you guys want to admit.

| Only because Cingular purchased AT&T wireless did their subscribers jump up. They only had a little more than half of the subscribers before the purchase. That was the main reason to purchase them, they were so intent on becoming #1. (I worked for Cingular for 3 years in Fayetteville NC) But look at the numbers after the purchase, Verizon has almost caught up. Look at statistics and information based on the two companies, within the next year, year and one half they will probably catch AT&T. Then they can drop the largest carrier ads. Yes every carrier has issues and nothing is 100% with wireless communications, but from experience AT&T has it all wrong. Only thing they have going for them is the IPhone. But it is like putting a bandaid on a gunshot wound. | |

| Corrections! First of all, let's get this straight (puffed out chest). It's "at&t" now, not AT&T. The lower case letters, according to at&t, reflects it's new hip, young image.
#2: Does anyone disagree that changing the fairly respected Cingular name to at&t Wireless was a good idea? AT&T Wireless a few years ago was a joke in my city with dropped calls, dead zones, and old ugly clunky phones.
#3: It's not really AT&T with a new hip at&t name, it's Southwestern Bell. The carnivore Bell Baby intent on making promises it won't/can't keep time and time again. 3 years ago: RT's? There on their way. They'll be there any day now. Well, as of today, no RT's in my densely populated neighborhood and no DSL either. Their highly touted rollout of U-Verse in Sacramento was a laugh. I'll bet all 12 people who live close enough to a CO might try it.

1 edit | Verizon I have had verizon service for over a year with a lgvx8300 and I've only lost about 20 calls since my contract started and those have been caused by lake michigan. In Detroit where I used to live/work I walked in a bombshelter that had 50 foot thick concrete slabs to hold the building up and still could retain a signal and talk to people on my phone... granted I had 0-1 bar but the point is if it gets the job done I'm not switching. Same goes with my college. It has a metal roof. Most people I see lose their phone call in the bookstore... right in the middle of the building. I never loose my calls in the building. I've noticed though it has to do with the phone because I've used verizon with my sisters phone and she gets horrible service dropping calls on a consistant basis. Its a shame that they can't make one good design and stick with it.
I really think you pay what you get for don't pay too little when you get your phone. Buy a good decenly priced one or you'll regret it later.

| In CT... In connecticut, i find that a lot of people have att, though the experiences ive had on it arent good.
1)There phones always display full bars, but then dont connect and or drop calls. 2)I have had some very garbled calls, even though they had full bars.
Personally i have Sprint, I find it to be quite good. Though my current phone kinda sucks(m610) and dropps calls if i have bad service. My old sanyo however, could hold a call with as little as one bar without dropping, 2 bars and up and a call would NEVER drop. I have strong coverage everywhere (+highs speed internet) and when i go deep inside a building i can always roam off verizon or alltels 800mhz. As for Tmobile theyre an absolute joke here. No service, dropped calls, garbled calls, yuck! Dont know much about Nextel.
Id rank it like this in CT.. 1)Sprint/VZW tie 2)Alltel (they get to use Sprint and VZW in a lot of places) 3)ATT 4)Tmobile

| what? they lied??? do you mean to tell me that at&t? cingular? at&t again lied to us? say it ain't so!!! just goes to show what happens when the marketing spinmeisters take liberties & are not watched carefully by senior managment---regardless, the failure here (again) is on at&t senior management. they continue to take home their generous bonus checks yet anything that remotely resembles responsible actions is not on the bonus checklist. go figure. | |

| I guess it's regional I'm in DFW and had AT&T/Cingular for about 5 years now. Reception is outstanding and dropped calls are virtually non-existent for me. We do have one dead area in town but according to various coverages maps, it's dead for all carriers. But, I have taken my phone to the Columbus, OH area and reception sucks big time.
One interesting point, I took my Cingular RAZR to the top of La Plata Peak in the CO Rockies last July and got a signal there. So that's out in the middle of nowhere and 14,000+ feet up in the air... lol -- My Gallery MySpace Formerly Nezmo

| T-Mobile T-Mobile is for me. On my way from N. Illinois to Cimarron new Mexico, I only lost service once in colorado, and I'm not sure if I just lost voice or data, because I was on my laptop with data service the whole time. Up on Mt. Baldy I got 3/4 bars, lol. I will admit, sometimes T-Mobile doesn't have the strongest cell towers, but they are getting there because my cousin used to not have service in their house, and not they have full service. | |

| Drop calls with dropped ad I switched to Cingular (now AT&T) in January from having Nextel for 5 years. I had 2 dropped calls with Nextel but with AT&T 93% of my calls have dropped. I would say that makes me not wonder about them dropping that ad campaign. Even had dropped calls in supposedly large coverage areas talking mobile to mobile on their service. My advice is if you are thinking of going AT&T wait a few years till they clear up the mess. Right now Alltel is the leader in fewest drop calls. | |

| Dropped Call fiasco Well I worked for AT&T (then Cingular) for three years ending August of 2006. To give you the inside story about this crap when the Telphia report came out the area that AT&T had the fewest dropped calls was actually downtown San Francisco, roughly a 13 block radius (per the report) We were supposed to know this and all customer service reps were specifically told not to quote anything from the report, nor were we to disclose the name of the company. This was a huge deal and we had this come up in our weekly team meetings (they call huddles) over the course of the next month. They told us to proudly support the ads but not to disclose anything. So there ya go, now it finally got dropped, just like there calls. I mean you work for a company for 3 years and can't get a signal in your own building. (I worked at the Fayetteville NC call center) I paid for cellphone service the entire time I worked there and did not want to get their terrible service. HAH! | |

| Dropped AT&T before contract... In May of 2007 we almost lost our 31 year old handicapped son because the New AT&T could not connect us to those caring for our child! Luckily I used a land line and found that our son was in distress and we needed to take him to the emergency room. The school had tried to contact me and my wife via our cell phone but could not connect! After his emergency surgery I called AT&T to advise them that they breached their contract for connectivity reasons and that we were going back to Verizon. We are now in collections and refuse to pay any more. NO ONE gave a damn at AT&T when I explained the situation. They told us we should have had a land line number to be reached and we were not going to be allowed to drop out of our contract. Any suggestions? | |
