| Meganova launches MiiVi Torrents A tribute to the fall of MediaDefender.
Right now, all it has are links to other Torrent sites, like Meganova, The Pirate Bay and Mininova.

| Re: Meganova launches MiiVi Torrents That's Media defender's site.
Miivi was their sorry attempt to entrap people looking for torrents, and it was taken down after it was exposed. Either you don't know what miivi was (and now do) or you're a 'media defender' chump hoping to get people to use their links, which are probably tracked redirects. I hope you're the former (or at least WERE the former, and just didn't know-but do now ).

Actually, sdwillie, you might want to check out the link before you spew forth absurdities... Dr.4 is right and I think it's hilarious!!

| If PirateBay ever goes under . . . . I know that if pirating continues, it lessens artists and corporate profits probably resulting in less media to pirate.
However, it's virtually impossible to stop copying/pirating from my point of view. We already have seen the record company industry fail in trying to shut down allofmp3.com in Russia. All a pirate or low price company need to is set up shop in Russia, get licensed by the Russian Multimedia and Internet Society, and they can sell/pirate digital files since Russian law only covers physical objects like CD's and DVD's, not mp3 or mpg digital files.
As quickly as they put out one fire, the media industry just starts another someplace else. But as I said, if pirating and cheating gets out of hand, media production will slow and we'll all be sorry.

| Price-Cut Artists~! The quick fix here would be... QUIT PAYING artists large sums of money for crap! You look at the movie industry and see large sums of money flocked toward a creation of a movie. About 50% of the total cost of the production of the movie goes to Actors\Actresses. On the day of theatrical release they pray to get a hit movie to get half way out of the red margin. The Musical Industrial is the exact same way. If prices were to decrease (Hint: Salary of Artists) on the cost of production per movie and music the savings would be passed onto US the consumers. But... no0000, they choose to continue their habits and so will I | |

It is not the cost of the artists that drive the prices up so high but the fact that everyone in the distribution chain wants to double their money. A CD costs roughly $1 to produce and usually an artist is lucky if he makes $0.50 on each one sold. So the cost is roughly $1.50. Everything above that is marketing, distribution and profit.
