It is nice to see a competitor to itunes.
However. I still don't like the concept.
I'm paying to buy a copy of a song or album at 256k, will I be able to come back later and get it in lossless format for free? or hd audio format? (as and when they are re-released under those or other better formats?). I very much doubt it.
I'd be all over a music service that promised you the personal rights to the song and will upgrade the format for your lifetime - and anyone you pass those rights to at death or as a gift. Otherwise you are not buying the song, you are renting it in a certain format for a while. |
