but the delay on Caps Lock makes it unusable when remapped

I too bought the new Apple keyboard, but I have been remapping the Caps Lock key to be Control since OSX first came out (programming since ~1978) and this delay feature makes it *horrible* to use for Control.

i agree that Caps Lock is a wasted key altogether, and all of their keyboards up until this one have allowed remapping without the delay... they just seemed to have overlooked the ability to remove the delay when its remapped.

Now, if Apple supplied a way to take this delay feature off when the key is not being used as a (complete useless) Caps Lock, then I would give Apple their usual praise.

However, I can't get used to this delay, so I cannot use this new keyboard sigh. I'm back to my older White, small-footprint that came with my G5's, etc.

Now, if they could come up with a low-profile, lighted keyboard (without the delay), I'd be thrilled... I'm already spoiled by the lighted keyboard on my 17" MBP... I think its the greatest single feature since touch typing.
