| LECs & Money
It all comes down to the LECs losing money from people changing over to Vonage and other VoIPs. Vonage is the largest so why not go after them is what they see? They can't go after Packet8 since they do have their own patents.
Just away to shut them down. The new american way- if you can't beat them sue them. |

Vonage has survived so far, will be interesting to see what happens here. Who knows if the AT&T suit even has merit.

Vonage has been or is in the process of being sued by four companies..
Sprint (settled) AT&T (new) Verizon (ongoing) Klausner Technologies (settled)

They merged, but it's just a matter of time before they become a small company again. Landlines are a thing of the past, they're bleeding customers to cable companies along with people who just use a cell phone. T-Mobile has hotspot, and Sprint is testing a mobile CDMA tower that can go right into your home giving a perfect signal (and unlimited calling when attached to the device).
I know a lot of people who didn't want to drop their landline because they have a flaky signal at home. Well, once these products take off there goes more customers. -- The true patriot is motivated by a sense of responsibility, and out of self interest -- for himself, his family, and the future of his country -- to resist government abuse of power. | they are losign allot but that is why they are getting into the cable business. They are the only one that can offer a true quad play. Yeah TWC is offering wireless in a partnership with sprint. But my mom has FIOS with verizon cable phone and internet for 100 a month. and wireless for I think 40.00 extra. not bad. But verizon and att are the only ones in postion since sprint spun off their landlines! |

Not surprised. LOL
Vonage is awesome and ATT sux
ATT is back together now to rule the planet
as the largest monopoly to uprise again .
There should be a new law or bill keeping ATT or any company from using the old shitty copper network that they rely on. and only fiber or better products be used in order to force them into the same laws as cable providers.

| Vonage commercial..
In the latest vonage commercial they compare themselves to the "traditional phone company" who's been around FOREVER. The screen keeps edging the traditional phone company out to take a look at Vonage's price, service and customer benefits. One last quip; the only thing the phone company has changed is its prices (hinting at HIGHER prices). The only one who's getting edged out in REALITY is vonage.
Hmm..
It looks as if this battle is just about over.. by this time next year, there won't BE a Vonage. Vonage stopped their last commercials running the "people do stupid things campaign". The same can be said about Vonage running smack dab from one patent infringement lawsuit from a telco into another?!?
This does not bode well for the rest of the VOIP industry (excluding Cable voip, for the moment..) |

Are you nuts? As part of their settlement with Sprint they were licensed over 100 patents that from reports cover every aspect of their business. The patent lawsuits will stop.
They have paid their settlements thus far in CASH as they had set aside funds. They have the 58 million for the Verizon verdict if/when they have to pay it.
With over 2 million customers Vonage will not just "go away". At the very worst they file chapter 11 and someone gets them for pennies on the dollar. That assumes that they don't sell before that happens. |

I wouldn't call Citron a moron. I'd call him a bit shrewed, but he's definitely no moron.
I don't think Vonage is dying a slow death. I'm very aware that your experience with Vonage was less than desired (probably because you weren't quite sure how to troubleshoot your issues), but I think to call them a laughing stock is a bit far fetched.
