How about ANY broadband to RURAL, like qwest PROMISED

yawn....yet more bits-per-second for the urbanites who ALREADY HAVE MEGABITS of it.

And NOTHING for the almost HALF THE COUNTRY that is STILL stuck with dog-slow dialup.

like me! LOL

The way I heard it, Qwest got a tax-credit or lawsuit-award-abatement on the order of 300 million bucks from the state of Oregon...

....and they got that 300 mill SPECIFICALLY in exchange for a PROMISE to wire up RURAL Oregon for broadband.

That was something like FIVE years ago.

nada...squat...zilch....that's how much broadband is available to me today.

And I'm only a few miles outside a town of 10,000; and there's a freaking FIBER running along hwy-238 where my road connects to it just ONE trivial little mile away....sigh...

And their piss-poor POTS lines will only connect a 56k modem at 28.8k...on a GOOD day...when it isn't raining hard...LOL.

So I know you guys will understand when I exhibit NO sympathy for your inability to upgrade the ten MEGAbits/sec you ALREADY have, to twenty...LOL!
