| Useful archive data. I'm glad they did this study, so it can go in the archives of history to document this problem, for the vindication of people like me who have repeatedly had problems like this with Verizon and other companies, in this specific case, Verizon.
Bad billing is a fact I long ago was forced to accept with NYNEX in 1994 (predecessor to Verizon). It is especially pertinent now since FiOS is clearly an important national product for Verizon and for the population. Knowing this problem within Verizon will help people to handle the utility better (more patiently but with faster attempt to get Verizon to make net charges closer to reasonable according to business sense, whether or not they are quoted correctly). Whether or not Verizon takes the specific step to fix this error is not as important as at least one of the two following things happening: Verizon fixing it, or people being able to deal with these errors properly when they come up, since many companies/corporations are doing this sort of thing.
I will probably get a few "but they should do it right!" messages. Well, of course they should. But that's not my point. |
