The name game....

Gah, damn marketing department. Possibly the least descriptive, most confusing naming scheme ever. Pro, elite, max, express? How are you supposed to differentiate between which is which?

And I can see how U100 = 100 channels, but from there, the U-Verse math team fails.

Needs more X's in the name I guess.

Finally!!!

Hope installs go smoothly and quickly for all you guys ordering service. I live in the town next to Buffalo Grove which AT&T hasn't served DSL, so I'm a bit jealous.

Prices?

So whats the new prices on the internet side only?

*I feel that atat should give more upload speed for the faster download tiers..but that's just me..

Expensive.

They just launched Uverse here in St. Louis too. I looked into it. It was about ten bucks more than my cable TV and internet not to mention that the internet speed was slower on Uverse. I was really looking forward to this but its just more of the same... Had it been cheaper Charter would have been given the boot but sadly its not the case.

Its U-niVersel!

Ah, I see U-verse is finally available(website says my town is Live). Still think since my address is plastered all over our box should get discounted service. Can you copyright an address yet?

While its nice to see another 'choice' looks like U-Verse still leaves a lot to be desired. Still have just under a year left with AT&T/DISH bundled discount deal to go, so probably just as well give time for them to work out all those kinks.

Re: Prices?

You can't get internet only with this Uverse setup. Bundles ONLY!

At least in my area.

Re: Expensive.

Really? Around here Charter just lowered their prices but up till then their lowest speed tier cost as much as BellSouth's fastest. And their cost for basic TV wasn't exactly cheap either. Now their prices are closer to AT&Ts in this area.

Re: Prices?

I've heard that if you order the bundle then cancel the tv portion you get to keep the internet side. no experience, but i think i've read it somewhere.

Huh?

U-Verse Line···cago.pdf
Chicago Area U-Verse Package Lineup
"Monthly $10 HD Technology Fee applies."

$10 just to have HD eh? Couldn't name it "HD Cost Recovery Fee"?

Come on ditch the f'ing fees already!

" I have an HD enabled TV, I want to purchase HD content $10/month
Each U-verse TV requires a receiver. How many receivers do you need? You get one TV receiver with a DVR and two additional receivers for no additional charge. You can get a fourth, fifth and sixth receiver for $5 each per month."

So 1 HD-TV in your house costs you $10 extra. Pfft.

Edit: To add total of 42 HD channels available, including locals and info channels.

Edit2: Attach PDF of Line-up for anyone wanting a quick peek.

Re: Uverse Max

If you can get it at all you'll be able to get "full speed" on the broadband Internet part.

Not available in Schaumburg???

I haven't seen any VRAD's around Roselle Road and Weathersfield Way or west of Roselle Rd. along Weathersfield Way, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. AT&T, WTH?

Re: Charter and raised prices

Except with Charter you pay ridiculous equipment fees...$10 for HD content is a standard price across all providers (dish and DirecTV you have to have an 18month-2yr contract to get HD)

They really raise the prices, technically they dropped the bundle discounts as of mid feb.
