| Still cheaper than what former BS customers pay Most customers with AT&T's high-speed DSL Internet service will be charged an additional $5 a month, the company said Friday. The increase affects DSL plans, each with a different connection speed, that now have monthly charges of about $15, $20 and $25.
same tiers for former BS customers, but now at&t custoemrs is, $25, $33, and $38.

2 edits | Elite package Even if ATT raises my monthly bill from $35.00 to $40.00 for 6/768 service, I'll take it. My alternative is Charter..."pipline"-5/512 @ $50.00 a month. No brainer for this dude... And, from what I've heard, there are still evening slow times using Charter's "pipline" here in the Federation Outpost of San Luis Obispo, CA. And, if I help those evening slowdown's by using Charter's VOD service, then I'm ALL over it! P.S. ATT's EDGE/3G network SUCKS. I currently use Sprint's EVDO, or Verizon's EVDO while roaming. Another no brainer. Heck, T-Mobile's EDGE is faster then ATT's crap.

| changed the deal: Playing the part of a congenial host, Lando greeted his old buddy Han and his companions Chewbacca, Leia Organa, and C-3PO. He gladly agreed to help fix the Falcon's damaged hyperdrive while they enjoyed Cloud City's hospitality. The travelers, however, did not trust Lando entirely, especially after the disappearance of C-3PO. Not long after their arrival, Lando invited the Rebels to refreshments and led them to Darth Vader and his stormtroopers, where Han, Leia, and Chewbacca were captured. Much to Lando's chagrin, Vader considerably altered the original deal. The Dark Lord insisted that Leia and Chewbacca remain on Bespin and decided to test the carbonite-freezing chamber (normally used to prepare Tibanna gas for shipment) on Han Solo, hoping that the same apparatus could be used on Luke to transport him to the Emperor. Lando, increasingly unhappy with the arrangement, which now included the torturing of Han Solo, informed Han and Leia of their fate, telling them "I had no choice." Han did not take this well, and punched the Baron Administrator | |

| Value spin job! Here's what really happened: Someone in charge of the DSL product at the big house looked at their forecast and their revenue objective and said "what should we do? We'll never get there at the current rate. Oh yeah, that's right, we have a captive audience let's raise the price, I will then make my quota." Simple. Just factor in a bit of churn but the market base is so big the revenue impact can be nothing but positive. Nice value spin job, though.
Now that the predatory pricing strategy is in the second phase - they've successfully pushed out any likely smaller telephony based providers - they can execute phase II - raise all prices.
Sad that the FCC and others don't seem to honor the entrepreneurial spirit of this country and resist the lobby and the monopoly.
Finally, how someone like Steve Jobs and his crew can even be associated with this sadly run, crusty business, is beyond understanding. Greed I guess.
