Maybe its just me but this sounds exactly like what Skype is or was? How is VoIM anything new?

Do you remember Hush Messenger? It is supposed to encrypt messages free. Also Trillian had the same type of encryption but is was higher than AIM's. |

Even Messenger and Yahoo...
A friend of mine used to call me using one of these IM proggies wayyyy back, before 6meg DL's... It was laggy, but it also was a free long distance phone call. |

It was laggy, but it also was a free long distance phone call. I remember back in '95 when they had TCP/IP clients (some windows 3.11 program, don't remember the name now) to do this as well. It worked great over a 14.4 modem connection, no long distance bills. I use to talk to friends over it to save money when long distance rates were insane. Back when a lot of those mom and pop dial up ISP were around. |
