Sprints price is 30% cheaper than Verizon...

Sprints price is 30% cheaper than Verizon and you still complain just because. Sprint has essentially the same network as Verizon because of the roaming agreement, and it includes unlimited Data and texts, GPS and everything else. That's a pretty smoking deal if you don't want to do the SERO plan, yet some of you still complain and make asinine statements about Sprint going out of business while they still make money hand over fist.

I swear some of you complain just to complain.

Having access to both Sprint and Verizon's voice and data network on my Mogul is awesome. :]

Yep, being able to "roam" on Verizon's network is what I love about having Sprint.

strip it down...

So stripping it down... the UNLIMITED VOICE is about $50-60 per month...

Just multiply the 300/free incoming minute plan minutes by 10x + D.C. for half their current price of $50 a month and that can keep customers too.

What are they going to do for customers who don't want unlimited?

Damn that's expensive.

I was going to dump the landline..but not at that price. I have two lines right now for 100/month total. All i use is the voice..an occasional text. This is a great package for folks who have lots of data and overages.

There may be a couple of typos regarding the prices, but this should give everyone a general idea...

I am not worried, as Sprint reorganizes itself, the company will come out strong but it will need too rethink it's current strategies in order too survive.

As the new chairman in charge his main focus is customer service and overall satisfaction with bringing also financial stability too the company.

The new chairman is a conservative one and that's what the company needs right now. Sprint has a better chance as a wireless broadband provider than a actual voice provider. That all depends on how they actually plan too execute those moves but when company reorganization comes into play and at such a drastic measures, the company will not only save billions in just distributions channels alone, but the shrinking of workforce size is very beneficial.

Bad for the average job seeker, good and massive monthly debt reducer for the company. Reorganization of the network as well can help reduce expensive cell sites by eliminating lease contracts and coming up with other alternatives.

50% of the chairman's expense on his own income will be Starbucks and junk food.

The biggest question now remains on what exactly does Sprint want too do with iDEN.

shrugs at unlimited..

if you read carefully.. the unlimited everything plans are primarily for PDA phones.. which really isn't for everyone.. these phones are fragile devices that don't like to be dropped. i thought many of sprint's customers were those rugged motorola style phones which have many of the data features but are rather difficult to use. imo, the other plans really cost too much for what they're giving you.. 450/900 minutes which interchange with data? Pfft...

the sprint phone lineup to put it bluntly sucks.. hopefully they have a new lineup of MUCH, MUCH, MUCH cheaper feature packed phones to roll out with this..

I disagree, I currently have a Mogul with Sprint (since Sep 07) and prior to that I had a 6700 for two years. I also have two small children, both phones have been dropped to many times to count, kicked, stepped on, sat on, slobbered on, and various other unkind things done to them. They both still work perfectly and with the exception of some nicks and scratches on the casing and a broken battery door on the 6700 that was replaced under warranty are just fine. They aren't nearly as "fragile" as you are making them out to be.

By the way, another thing Sprint has that others don't is insurance coverage for ALL of their phones including the PDA's. I've had Verizon, Cingular, and AT&T at some point in time and none of them ever offered insurance coverage on their PDA/Expensive phones.

Re: shrugs at unlimited..

I have the ATT 8525 which is essentially the GSM version of the same phone and I agree. The phone works great, but has been dropped, kicked, etc. If I would compare it to a car, I'd call it a used NYC cab in terms of the abuse it has been through.

Not the solution

This is not going to save Sprint at all, a move like this is roughly analogous to trying to sell passage on the Titanic for fire-sale prices, while the news is coming in that the ship is sinking. Seal that massive hole in the side of the ship before trying to sell room on it.

Sprint's real 2 phone plan.

This is from fat wallet.

$95 per month for 2 lines of sprint service, which includes unlimited voice, internet and text. $20 per each additional line.

The plan CODE is - FC2396

Nobody can touch this.

anyone heard of Helio?

Helio (www.helio.com) has been offering the same thing for some time now. Helio doesn't have their own towers so they used the Sprint network for service. I think they also use Verizon's network when no Sprint signal is available but you cant use data services without Sprint signal. Helio seems to be aimed at the younger crowd and only offers a choice of 4 phones so its not for everyone, but for what I need and use, you cant beat the price.

Re: anyone heard of Helio?

Actually Helio is pretty cool. I recently signed up and did so basically for the simplicity of the service. I didn't need unlimited calling, so I didn't opt for the $99 plan (usually $149). It does piggyback on the Sprint network and also includes the free roaming on Verizon. So I get the best of both worlds including a NO BS billing method and significantly fewer hidden charges and complicated billing plans.

Phone choices are limited, but I do love my new Ocean and wouldn't trade it even for an iPhone. I'm in Hunan province China, and powered it up and it roams on China Unicom's CDMA network. I would have loved it if I could put in my GSM sim card for China, but that's not a problem.

All this talk about unlimited is moot. It's been done, and done better by the SK Telecom/Earthlink joint venture. And hopefully it will become more popular.

Per Minute

T-Mobile offers 1150 minutes for $100 and the minutes last a year. Bring your own phone or Palm. They give you a new SIM. No Strings.

Just try getting a phone you didn't buy from sprint and that extends your contract activated. With a SIM card, you just pop it in any phone (made for the sims company...).

Done when my sprint contracts up, I don't use even a hundred minutes a month and plan on being conscious of it.

Times are tough, I don't want part of anything that wants me to pay pay pay.

I think you guys get the feeling of what I'm saying.

Cell phone contracts have been way abusing us a long time.

Sprint acts like you owe them something, YOU OWE! and its your duty to pay them.

Why should I give someone $400 a yaer when $100 will be fine.

Business model is wrong unless you need to gab all day on a cell that may give brain cancer.

Re: Per Minute

There are prepaid services that are better deals than that...Besides Tmobile being one of the worst networks.
