| First Amendment to Godwin's Law
I hereby propose an amendment, that Godwin's Law henceforth reads:
"As a (Usenet) discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis al-Qaeda or Hitler terrorists approaches one."
The corollary is that if your arguement resorts to references to the terrorists, you automatically lose. |

What does tapping every phone call between Iraq and the US have to do with IP crimes?
Is it some new thing where you call a secret Iraqi number, and they give you a link to download a cracked version of Windows or something? |

Piracy. First off, I have never seen any GEEK or P2P/BT user rape then use a Cutlass to kill several people and then TAKE any software/movies/music - not pirates.
Second, no theft is involved - it's copying. At best, it is Copyright Infringement - not theft... no matter what the Music & Movie Overlords have told you.
Wait until YOU get hosed because of the policing actions make a mistake and come after you.
Now, as for the warrantless wiretapping... BULLSHIT! What if one of your enemies rat you out and they start tapping the shit out of your phone and internet? -- Think outside the Fox... Opera |

So, as you defend IP crimes, keep that in mind as you stand in the unemployment line. So is the housing sector and stocks. Tell you what - let's just wholesale surveille without and kind of judicial oversight whatsoever all calls, email, snail mail, bank accounts, medical, etc. because not doing so has the potential to negatively affect the U.S. economy. Oh wait. The telcos already provide much of that data to the NSA and what they don't pick up in that capacity, the USA/Patriot/Military Commissions Act and FISA does. So we're all safe & snuggly in this country. Now why isn't the Dow at 30k? Right. Because we haven't secured the piracy sector. Well it's a good thing AG Mukasey came along. Whatever would we do without patriots like him? -- The Toll

No. They have not.
What is this administration of Bush and Dick if it isn't scaring people into giving up their rights? Completely limp. |

1 edit | reply to Dogfather And how would they do that if someone subscribes to one on European VOIP and call elsewhere using it?
What if my VOIP company is based in let say Germany. And I call my friend in Russia and talk about different bs. I think wiretapping in this situation would be very illegal!
But if this Administration wants to listen,no problem,I can always invite them to join the party using 3-way calling, unless... they don't like 3-somes. LOL |

Nope, I did not. My butt is DRM protected. So I assume by scratching it I don't violate any anti-piracy law and in the end it should not lead to any terrorist actions. LOL |

I thought I had heard it all from these morons, but this takes it to a new level.
Downloading a song encourages/is terrorism???!
Next, we'll be finding out that the Govt. believes that feeding your cat tuna fish encourages/is terrorism!
Unbelieveble!
This idiot does know that terrorists also live in Mexico and Canada doesn't he? We'd better allow warrantless taps between all calls from these countries too!
Come to think about it, didn't some of the 9/11 terrorists live in San Diego? WOW! We'd better allow warrantless wiretapping of all calls to and from California too!
And we KNOW that at least one of them was in Maine that day and they were all in Massachusetts...we'd better put those states on the wiretap list too!
Where does it end?
Fortunately, there's less then a year before we quit getting F***ED by Dick and Bush. Hopefully, the next President will put OUR needs over those of Halliburton's.
Of course, by then gas will be over five bucks a gallon and the Bushes, Cheneys, Rices and their families will be billionaires for life (after all, they all are oil people). |
