I agree with you, BF69. So long as my legitimate data and voice packets flow with minimal delay, I'm happy.
The obvious concern becomes over how Comcast can decide what is legitimate and what is not. We've seen cable companies try to block port 5060 for VOIP traffic as well.
The problem is with the torrent providers and they are who the internet services should go after. Its easy...you see torrents, shut down their Modem. |

I think my face is on a wall at Comcast. Now that I'm recovered, I'm looking for work. I wonder if they would call me back if I sent them a resume...

PS: I couldn't work for Comcast, anyway, my signature on that FCC petition represents a conflict-of-interest. I actually wouldn't mind working for the locals here, they're great -- from the phone to the office to the field -- I've never had a complaint that they didn't jump on and fix, cheerfully. It's the Philadelphia folks that have spoiled the soup. I keep reminding myself that Comcast is still not as dirty as Enron (who owned Portland General Electric, a white-hat subsidiary). -- Robb Topolski -= funchords.com =- Hillsboro, Oregon FCC Public Hearing on the Future of the Internet - Thursday, April 17th - Stanford Univ., Calif. |

| Re-read what Comcast posted. They didn't state they were going to stop managing their network, they stated they were going to be protocol agnostic in their management. (ie, pick on everyone, not just BT)
If they are implementing an interface into the provisioning system to accomplish this like we talked about a few threads ago, that kind of implementation would indeed take time. |
