| | Just a faster way to get cut off... Ok...5Mbps up is great, but 50Mbs down will just get you warned or cut off that much faster due to CC's invisible cap. I'm fine with 16Mbs down...1.5Mbs up needs to be 2Mbps. | |
|
| | | Re: Just a faster way to get cut off... That cap would more than likely go up with the new tiers. Plus the caps vary month to month, and city to city. | |
|
| | Locations? Is it just within the city, or suburb areas? Is there a list of locations where available? | |

| | Hm. I've had numerous months where I've been at 300,400, and even 600GB downloaded, in a row, and they've never said anything to me.
All of this comes from my newsgroup account, which maxes my 8Mbps line the entire download.
If I splurged and got the 50Mbps account, I could easily see myself downloading 1TB of a stuff a month, wonder what the CSR would say to me on the phone if I called in to ask why I got suspended

I power cycled my modem and haven't gotten the upload speed increase. I'm not sure if it's because I'm on Earthlink over Comcast, or because Chaska hasn't gotten the upgrades yet.

Booooooooooo. | |

| | Minneapolis UPLOAD is now 1mb and 2mb!! I called my biz rep today. All standard 6mb tier subs get 1mb upload now (up from 384k!!!).
If you upgrade to 8mb "speed tier" you get 2mb!
My business account, which was 8/1, is now 16/2 for the same price! My upload with PowerBoost is 4mb!
You need up reboot your modem in order to get re-provisioned.
It's Sweet!

| Re: Didn't you guys ever think... This is BBR, logic doesn't apply. You have to hold to these universal truths:
1) All companies are trying to screw you. 2) There's infinite bandwidth available, it's "the man" trying to keep you down 3) FiOS > * 4) P2P traffic causing congestion issues is a myth, like global warming. See #2. 5) Companies should invest significant capital to upgrade their networks and reduce pricing at the same time.

| | Headline at TechNewsWorld... "Comcast Goes Full Throttle With Experimental Wideband Rollout"... something I never thought I'd see: the words "Comcast" and "full throttle" in the same sentence.
Things that make you go, "Hmmm...".
|
| | $5 a day? I'd rather skip Starbucks and get Wideband
I ordered it, I am a heavy gamer and stream a lot of video... no home install kit yet, tech coming to install on Monday, apparently its a SA/Cisco Layer 2 Bridge

Definitely helps to have a 4-PC household-- we eat bandwidth for breakfast :

| | Wow $150 a month for that? Ummmm cut the download speeds in half and up the upload speed to at least 10Mbps...Then I would consider. Some of you must love wasting money though.
$150 for Cable Internet $60 - $100+ for Cable TV ? Digital Phone
Ouch, no thanks. | |
