fcislerPremium join:2004-06-14 Riverhead, NY | Firefox + att = ? Great...so they take a good base browser, and slap so much s*it on top of it that you now need a powerhouse computer to run it?
Same as anything AIM after 5.9. That was the last good version. Nice small footprint. The new one just adds eye candy and is a HUGE resource hog.
No thanks. I'll take a slim, streamlines ANYTHING over this bloat.

1 edit | Thats all Right, The customer pays for all the development cost for this piece of junk with higher rates.
Then they get to see unwanted advertisements in 3D. They will have plenty of time to view the advertisements because if you have AT&T Pogo and Vista things are going to run pretty slow unless you have a $5000 gaming box.
AT&T marketing department will say that it "improves the customers personal online experience" or some such crap. I am sure the person in this thread who said that AT&T might force subscribers to use it is probably close to the truth.
I am surprised that no one in the thread has said that they are going to download and try it. I imaged my C drive just yesterday so I might give it a try.

| | Aaaaarrrggggghhhhhh I freekin HATE AT&T!!!! Your right, this will turn the internet into AT&T's version of AOL.com. And if they get network neutrality eliminated, there will be no choice we will all have to use their browser and hit their websites.
Can someone please explain this to Senator Stevens?

viperpa33sWhy Me?Premium join:2002-12-20 Bradenton, FL | AT&T is oblivious quote: The browser's "3D" GUI is a bit of a system pig (for a browser), requiring a 1.6GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, and a video card with at least 256MB of VRAM.
It's obvious AT&T are oblivious to what goes on in the tech community. The tech savvy tries to steer clear of programs that are system hogs and we have a company that is creating one. When the average user installs this and there computer grinds to a halt, your going to hear the tech calls start rolling in. Of course AT&T won't blame it on there program, they will blame it on something else including the operator.
If they did tell people that they could only use the browser to access the internet, AT&T would find themselves in hot water.

Save them time and money, just buy AOL off TW and replace the triangle with the death star. Voila!

| I Remember The Last Fiasco Ma Bell has issued bloated malware for nearly 10 years. I one time I loaded it on a test box to see what would happen. The mess it caused convinced me to run from this company. The Bell CD installed Bell engineered Yahoo that inserted itself into four browsers, upgraded free software to paid pro versions, added icons on my desktop and controlled EVERYTHING. The :remove software: function was broken and Yahoo tried to call home every few minutes even though this machine was never on line. It took three days and countless hours to edit the registry line by line, reformat the drive and do a couple of other things before I could restore my desktop to pre-Ma Bell condition.
Don't do it. You don't need anything but a modem and router to connect to the web through AT&T as long as you have a BB connection.
The ATT software before this last time was even worse. The software would not install and the "help" desk couldn't figure their way out of a paper bag. It was worse than horrible. I returned the junk, walked across the street and walked out with a cable modem. That was before Cox knew anything about viruses or neighborhoods. It sucked as bad or worse than Bell does. I wouldn't recommend either service if you have a choice.. -- Mac: No windows, No gates, Apple inside
