| From one end of the spectrum to the other?
Until recently, NIN has more or less embraced the idea of "quality over quantity", releasing an album once every 5 years or so. Now, we're getting an album from him/them once every few months. Let's hope he doesn't turn this idea on its side. (Although upon first listen of this album, this isn't the case.) |

I am just about done listening to the last song after listening straight through the whole album. The download came in incredibly fast from their web site, unlike that Ghost album which had lots of download problems from their site. This new album, The Slip is not bad. It's good to hear lyrics again since the Ghost album was just instrumental. There's definitely some really good tracks on this album and very cool that it was released for free. Certainly doesn't compare to Pretty Hate Machine or some of the older albums though, but that's typical of most bands to decline over the years. |

I like the new album & it sounds fantastic. I love how you can download it in many different formats. Although I do agree with you guys Trent's music sounded better when he was on drugs. |

Considering how crappy their music is now nothing, or in this case free, is about the only thing it is worth. |

YEAR ZERO is his angriest album- lyric and sound wise. The whole album is a rage against the Bush administration and made at least 2 years after kicking his heavy drug use |

They finally figured out that their money is in touring and merchandise, not feeding the big record labels which A do not produce records anymore, and B only produce CD's which are useless in an MP3 age. -- Custom PHP/Perl Development. Vbulletin And Wordpress Mods Too! |

I downloaded it and burned it for the future Mrs. I downloaded the .flac version. I'm not a fan of them at all.
It is cool to see a major band do this though, and I give my props to them. |

I really never thought this day would come where one of the bona fide greatest "bands" of all time would embrace this.
Kudos to Trent for sticking with his plans and giving the recording industries a big stick in the ass.
