No extra fees

Cablevision doesn't charge extra fees because their prices are inflated to begin with!

What are they adding?

"The company will announce the full channel lineup later this month."

Why keep us in suspense?

Olympics!

The other channels not listed will be NBC channels carrying the Olympics. I can't see any cable provider not having all the NBC channels in HD for the Olympics coverage. CNBC HD, MSNBC HD, USA HD, Bravo HD, etc. That would be my guess.

no extra fees but

they have been taking away tons of popular channels from the regular programming lineup and you still have to pay the same price. Cablevision has some nerve to throw that line in, a little self righteous if you ask me.

LIAR, LIAR, pants on fire

They "DON'T charge extra"? what do you call the MONTHLY cable box and remote fees then?

MY tv has a QAM tuner, but cablevision scrambles all their digital signals, so I can't view them without their freakin box and remote.....

That is what Bresnan does here. The only channels on clear QAM are A&E HD and the music channels.

NBC is only showing HD Olympic coverage on NBC HD, USA HD and Universal HD. CNBC, MSNBC and Bravo are only showing SD coverage. It's on NBC's Olympics website.

More like the IO Navigation fee $5.95, have to have that at least with any digital cable box.

K thanks, looked but didn't see the HD breakdown. So that means USA HD will be on the list then, since Cablevision doesn't have that channel currently.

Re: No extra fees

Was thinking the same thing, no extra hardware charges for HD, but in order to keep getting the 7 - 8 channels they just moved from analog to digital required me to pay for another box ($6.50) and some other fee ($1.50) just because I now have a second box.

On the Direct Tv first box is free even if it's a DVR each box after that is $4.99. The drv fee is $5 for any number of them.
Direct tv should take Universal HD out of the HD extra pack for the Olympics

Re: No extra fees

well in comparison, directv makes you pay for HD, then on top of that for extra hd channels you have to pay, then on top of that you have to buy the freaken HD box for 300 dollars, then on top of that you have to pay for the dvr portion of it seprate. The cable company doesn't do that.

The only reason that I have directv it's because we have 4 boxes 2 in NJ where I live and 2 in PA where my parents are, 1 account.

So its cheaper than IO 2 locations? I have had IO and FIOS price is about the same.Fios does not charge for HD, neither does IO.

Re: LIAR, LIAR, pants on fire

Verizon charges the monthly fee for the HD box just like Cablevision, but doesn't charge for the programming. So who are the referring to when the refer to the phone company competitor? Verizon's fee structure is for HD is the same as cablevision.
I would sue for making this false assertion. There should be a class action lawsuit against cablevision, with settlement that they truly have to provide free HD to all their customers by either broadcasting all HD unencrypted or by providing the HD boxes for free.
Too bad I'm not a CV customer, but its ok as I'm soon (hopefully) going to be a fios customer.
