All this wailing and gnashing of teeth in the U.S. and Canada and around the world for that matter is driven by the music & movie thieves. Threaten to cut off their daily fix and they mobilize groups to restore their unlimited access to FREE content. God forbid anyone thwart their desires and off to court they go demanding their "rights".

There is no question that the group you have singled out is involved in this fight. However, I think it's a little short sighted to imply that they are the only group with something at stake with this issue, which is really larger and more fundamental than your comment would suggest. |

Theres no doubt google probably makes some money linking to BT sites, but 99% of their revenue comes from other searches, legit ones that I'm sure not even you can find a downside too. Yet theyre getting involved in this too...Why, for PR?
The non-narrow minded can see this is much more important then people getting their music fix. I'm sure your anti-BT thinking is well known on these boards... but to hate net neutrality all together? Come on...you can't be that narrow minded. |

Ah and what shall we do with our levies on blank media? Note that Canada is not alone in having their own little micro levies for the music industries on cds, tapes, and such. Some other places also include recorders, dvd players and so forth.
I simply don't see those going away, ever.
