How about;

Its better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

Carriers hate iphone?

With atrocious pricing like this, it almost seems like carriers don't want the iphone to sell...

What?

But I thought European companies were so much more pro-consumer and more affordable and overall more awesome than American companies (and let's not talk about Canada)... What is this? Someone call the EU and get them on this.

Of course, the Euro/Dollar conversion rate is going to make any European pricing on anything look ridiculous, and don't get me started on the pound sterling...

Why?

Why does it seem everyone wants this expensive piece of junk...err eye-phone candy?

Apple is changing the cell-phone game. Prior to this, cell phones were tightly controlled by the carrier with the carrier making money off of most extras. With the iPhone, the phone is tightly controlled by the phone maker and they make the money off of the extras.

I got mine yesterday.

Remember, to each their own.

Since you asked.

I bought mine because I wanted a phone with full browser support. I loved the ability to easily show pictures to friends/family of my kids. I like the GPS. I like the price of $199 because I'm already on at&t with a family plan. I paid $299 several years ago for a samsung razor phone, which when I think about is crazy for the capabilities it had.

I'm not a mac fan, and actually make my living in the Windows world... so don't think I jumped on the bandwagon just for that.

I love it so far. Drove my wife a bit crazy last night as I watched "Top Gear" episodes in bed on youtube. Why? Why not! haha

Re: Apple Sucks!

I had the original iPhone and sold it. BEST decision yet. I am sure with 3G, the browsing speeds are faster, but WHY does this device STILL LACK MMS?

I have to go along with the Apple Sucks comment for the time being when such a basic feature is lacking from the device. I know that if someone sends you a picture, you get a text saying login to this site with this information to view your message. In most cases, the site did not work, and when it did, it was so SLOW.

Why Apple, can you not release a feature such as MMS?

Can't wait till Android handsets are released.

Let me guess. You're one of these belgian customers who paid an exorbitant price for their phone. Did your provider throw in a bottle of lube by any chance? Sounds like you need it

Rogers will follow

Rogers will, no doubt, move to match prices in Spain.

Compared to a lot of other websites, not really... it could be a LOT worse.

Re: Why?

Because it's responsive and intuitive. It has a big, beautiful screen that most knockoffs still haven't duplicated well. The most rudimentary aspect of web browsing on a small screen is panning and zooming, and Apple nailed that with its "flicking" physics and its multi-touch pinching and squeezing. It's the simple things that don't show up on a feature punchlist that makes iPhone so fun to use. I can honestly say I've never enjoyed the overall experience of any phone prior to this one.

As far as functionality goes, it's a real iPod, which means it integrates with my car's audio system and all the other iPod compatible accessories out there. That is WAY more useful than A2DP for my purposes.

The only two features I really want are real MMS support and voice dialing. Those are software issues, not hardware issues. Still, the pros far outweigh the cons. Tethering would be nice, but this phone is so good I don't need to that nearly as much as I used to.

Re: Carriers hate iphone?

They've seen the data usage statistics. iPhone users actually USE their data plans, which means the carriers might actually need to build out more capacity for it. The nerve!

Re: iPhoneReports.com

What, we can't write articles about a popular smart phone and cheap data plans via ridiculous caps?

Re: Carriers hate iphone?

I'm pretty sure the typical iPhone user doesn't use their data plan anywhere near the amount a Blackberry user does.

Which makes you wonder why those items weren't included as it would not have jacked up the hardware cost of the unit. Frankly, the zooming flicking crap annoys me and I thought the absence of cut and paste was minor - until I wanted to cut text from an email that I was writing and pasting it to another email. Couldn't do it. How can you support Microsoft Exchange but not have cut and paste? But at least I can zoom with two fingers.

My take - these items were deliberately held back so that there would be a reason for 3G iPhone adopters to buy the next iPhone version. Frankly, I can't imagine what else the reason would be?
