This announcement about Portland is rather interesting in light of the fact that a wifi system just shut down in Portland (Oregon) a month or so ago. -- My perception is REALITY |

Nextel was RUINED by Don-a-hoe way before Sprint stepped in. IMO.. Sprint should have waited till they WERE bankrupt then bought them for pennies on the dollar. Then, handed all those walkie-talkie freaks a QChat phone and shut down iDen by end of this year. |

| Sprint runied Nextel and the deal when they started to ship things out of the country and use the untrained Sprint reps to handle Nextel issues. Also they could have had the Nextel brand disolved by now if they would NOT have let people migrate from Sprint to Nextel and allow people to sign up with Nextel. They should have only allowed Sprint sign ups.
Nextel would be gone today along with Boost. |

Here is a density map of Toledo. »factfinder.census.gov/servlet/Th···Identify
note the highest possible value for the color bar on the left is 16192 for Toledo
meanwhile, anything which isn't white (if its beige its higher), in my city, has a higher density than ANY place in Toledo.

Sprint shouldn't have bought Nextel at all. The two networks are incompatible, and there really aren't many synergies available without destroying one of the two networks.
By the way, "hand those walkie-talkie freaks a QChat phone" was essentially Nextel's long-term plan as well. That's why they got all that spectrum that's now being used for WiMax, the plan was to use data technology to build a network that could provide push-to-talk and also high data speeds (which iDEN does not do). At least, this is what I've heard, can't really confirm if it's true. |

i could careless about WiMax. Doesn't do anything for me. I'm happy with my Internet from Buckeye.
But you're the one on here saying its vaperware not me. So it does sound like you're jealous that you won't get it.
And just because thats what the Census has to say doesnt mean thats what data their using to deploy. Ohio already has Clearwire in Dayton so no big deal. |

They should have only allowed Sprint sign ups. Nextel would be gone today along with Boost. Well, there's a saying.. "sometimes it's better to sit there and look like a fool instead of opening your mouth and proving your are one"... Nextel falsified records by sending out replacement phones to customers with busted phones, marking them up as NEW ACCOUNTS therefore inflating numbers of how many customers they had. I do agree, Sprint took a F'd up company and screwed it up more because they took too much time in weeding out all the problems. Nextel had let their network (eqp) go to crap and did not upgrade, hoping for a buyer. Then here comes Sprint. So, unless you KNOW for a fact I'm wrong about them being screwed up BEFORE sprint stepped in, you might want to go back, do a little research on the matter, then come back begging for forgiveness. (rumor mill or not, the company WAS in DEEP DEEP trouble before they were "merged" with Sprint. They are STILL paying for this mistake bigtime. |
