| | I wonder... if the good samaritan Google would give the user an opt out clause with regards to saving their information.

| | | | Re: I wonder... I think the default is some really crappy search engine made by Verizon. For example, if I type in CELL PHONE (or something similar), I would only get like 4 web page results and 435 image results. | |

| Big 3 I use an HTC Mogul on Sprint. Live Search comes built in. I use the Live maps thingy. I downloaded GoogleMaps and use it sometimes as well. With MobiPush my GMail gets sync'd via Direct Push. I use Yahoo Go 3.0 as well. Nice app they have there. I downloaded the new AIM a few days ago but it's very lame so I just use Slick for multiplatform IM when I feel like it.
I use Google for web searches.
For just web searches, Google is the 1200 pound gorilla that gives the most accurate results for me, but for other stuff there really are some innovative products out there; one of my friends' phone (Samsung m520) has Windows Live Search on it, which uses the phone's GPS to tell where to make a search of stuff. Pretty nifty...

| | Default seach engine? Is this for 2-year olds? Ok, this is 2008, and we've only matured to the point where an entire mobile carrier has to have a default search engine? What does this even mean? Can't one simply browse to yahoo.com or some other such search engine? | |

Google does these deals even with web browser programmers- that's why Mozilla Firefox comes with Google as the default search engine. I guess this kind of deal falls into a similar category- you can use yahoo.com, but Google is hoping that you'll just fall into the path of least resistance
