USDA announces $342 million in loans

Fort Mojave Telecommunications, Inc. in Mojave Valley, Ariz., will use a $16.9 million Rural Development telecommunications loan to connect 60 subscribers
WTF! 60 subscribers? Fiber? 2,000 sq. ft. facility? Sounds like a pork barrel loan to me...

Um it's a LOAN. Which by most definitions means it has to be paid back with INTEREST. So who cares? Now if it was a GRANT which doesn't have to be paid back, that's different.

You mean paid back like all the Freddy and Fannie May loans? Yeah right. With 60 subscribers our childrens, children won't ever see it paid back. Give me a break, this is an out right give away. I've got about 20 neighbors that would like to have fiber to their houses, maybe I can get 1/3 of what they gave them as a "loan".
