Having the iPhone onVerizon's network, assuming it's still CDMA by the time the iPhone comes out for them, would mean that the phone could likely be hacked to put it onto Sprint. On the other hand, if VZW gets an LTE network by the time the iPhone comes out, then it'd be a more logical upgrade path for the iPhone, excluding Sprint though. |

Ahhh... the classic "blame the carrier for the crappy phone" game.
AT&T's 3G and EDGE networks, at least where I use our phones the most, are fairly decent. People I know who have iPhones have coverage issues in places where our phones (an HTC 8525 and a Samsung Blackjack 2) work just fine.
Verizon has an excellent network in most places. Even their crappiest phones work in the most unlikely of places. When issues with the iPhone appear on Verizon, is Verizon's network going to be to blame? -- "At the moment of conception." |

I would gladly get the iPhone with Sprint. They are the only ones with good pricing and great EVDO. I reliably get 1.2-1.7 mbit with the Sprint card and pull about 700kbps on my treo.
VZ and ATT both have 3G here as well but ATT is dropped calls everywhere, and VZ is just really expensive and not as fast. |

Ahhh... the classic "blame the carrier for the crappy phone" game. It's widely known that AT&T's GSM network isn't nearly up to the standard of any EVDO network in the US. I've never, outside of this site, - ever - known anyone who's had AT&T service and been happy with it. Dropped calls, no service, terrible sounding voice quality, missing txt messages, unable to make/receive calls ... the problems are widespread. They just sent me a deal for 5 lines for $99 (I pay Verizon twice that) and I won't touch it. Their service is especially horrible here.
While I think the iPhone is a mediocre phone (great web browsing though), I don't think the problems it has are all the phones fault. -- Linux Haters Unite! |

I'd rather get T-Mobile before going to Verizon Wireless or Sprint... but then again, I'm in SoCal.
AT&T has a lot of GOOD GSM coverage here, but their 3G network pathetic at best. Data may be Ok, but most calls made/recieved end up dropping for me. -- Canada = Hollywood North |

I have never had service issues with AT&T. More often than not I have coverage when those with Verizon do not (Most of my family has Verizon so I hear about coverage issues often.) Coverage in this area is actually why I went with AT&T, Verizon had a huge dead area in the middle of what was my service region at my last job, those with Verizon would be out of communication for fifteen to twenty minutes driving from the main office to our biggest branch office. So while Verizon may have an advantage where you live it is not the case here and they probably flip flop service quality all across the nation. -- For additional information on this subject please visit your local library. |

T-Mobile does not really exist here. It piggybacks on ATT, and is generally considered the worst. I don't know many people that have it. It is just awful. I know TMbile is popular on the west coast, but here it is useless. It is not even considered a real cell phone operator, just something old people/kids get to make 3 calls a weeks. |

If Sprint won't allow a Verizon Voyager or other 'non' Sprint phone on its network, why would it allow an iPhone ? Sprint has its own 'Instinct' to sell, specifically so they can lock you into a contract. Having an unlocked iPhone from another carrier defeats that purpose. -- Canada = Hollywood North |
