Increased FIOS Speeds and / or more package offerings along with new prices. Well only if FIOS feels the heat or rather need. But please Docsis 3.0 is barley a match and certainly not a threat. As for Charter having a few years? Well at least they're optimistic.

OK, at the 10/1 if you transfer to the 16/2 tier, it's $25 more per month plus $35 connection fee. How much are they going to rape customers in these markets for this? Not only that but history dictates Charter will screw this up for a good 5 years before some sort of stability is reached.

They'll try and milk out as much money as possible. Look at the Comcast 3.0 test market in Minn. Their charging over 100 bucks a month for 50/5 - and you know they'll have other pricing tiers.

Personally charter should just be a leader, and not wait for Comcast to do the pricing model - like every single MSO does.

St Louis?

I know St Louis is usually not one of Charter's first upgrade markets but I wonder this time. A lot of my contacts within Charter have been in a ton of meetings for the last month and there have been a lot more "maintenance" outages for the last month or so as well(the 1am-3am variety). The last time these events coincided was when they were bringing 16/2 online. On the other hand it could be that they are just getting ready to eliminate a bunch of analog channels (digital only).

Want to compete with fios comcast? you need to offer something better in the UPLOAD side. hell Cablevision offers 5mbps upload on docsis 2.0 on BOOST for some $65/month. fios' 50/50 is some ~$90/month.
lets see: 10 times the upload for $50 less and no caps unlike any cableco. cable vs fios is STILL a no-brainer.
