Comments on news posted 2008-10-08 12:36:55: Comcast says they'll have 20% of their markets upgraded with faster DOCSIS 3.0 50Mbps speeds by the end of the year, and all customers will be upgraded by the end of 2010. Still, the only market deployed so far is Minneapolis/St. ..

Yep...and the faster speeds will (just) help you get to your cap even faster!

By my estimation, 12 hours of 50Mbps sustained downloading and you'll have met your Comcast cap for the month. It must be THE FUTURE!

You are ridiculous the speed that comcast offers is worth it especially when you have a generous cap of 250GB's if it were 5GB's then it would be different. Lets be real people comcast's cap is more than reasonable for a human being or even a couple. GET OVER IT AND GET USED TO IT....

Fools Gold

Speedtests are a means for the desperately average to pretend that they are above average.

UGH!

I'm so sick of reading this crap. DOCSIS blah blah... deployed in blah blah... competing with blah blah. Well, FiOS has been here in Portland for over two years now, and there has been no effort by Comcast to deploy Blast! or anything like it. We only just recently got PowerSlow... er... PowerBoost. Ya know... when they choose to let it work. Meanwhile, the Seattle Metro area has had Blast! for going on eight months now -- a mere 150 miles away.

I guess the 3+ million people who live here in the metro area aren't competitive enough for the lovely folks at Comcast.

nonsense

Why pay more $$$ for faster speeds when you can get from point A to point B within the same time frame. Faster speeds is only noticeable when you are downloading huge files. The average surfing of the internet wont be any difference with faster speeds. It seems that bandwidth speed and the speed of your car goes hand in hand
