I've been expecting them to move into this arena. With FIOS they are more set up for this kind of stuff then cable companies or other Telcos.

Yes, the 1.6 IMG update fixes the VOD lag. 1.6 changed the way the STB caches the VOD assets, so browsing in VOD doesn't require a constant request from the VOD server. Once you order a VOD, only then is a request sent upstream to the VOD server.... |

FiOS TV's VOD isn't as good as the services provided by cable companies, by using YouTube and other online video services they greatly increase the amount of content they can use at minimal cost (well, I don't know how exactly the deal with Google will work), and their boxes are already IP-enabled... |

That's what I thought too, but I haven't found it deficient in any way, and I actually like their menu's better as well. Fewer click to get where I want, and better response. |
