| Will I need to upgrade my Linksys Cable Modem? My Linksys Cable modem is about 2 yrs old (docsis 2.0 compliant). Will I need to buy a new modem to get these newer speeds? Do the new, faster service speeds require docsis 3.0? If so, can my Linksys modem be upgraded (firmware) that will work with the faster speeds? | |

| Useless. Higher speeds are completely useless since Comcrap throttles everything and anything that takes bandwidth to begin with.
Sure, you'll be able to get your email attachment in 1.2 seconds instead of 2.7 seconds - but good luck downloading any video files.
I am starting to hate Comcast more and more these days.. it used to be a passive "they suck" - which is now turning into "why the hell am I not in Fios territory?!?". | |

| Tiring I am honestly getting tired of these companies increasing speeds and at the same time leaving large portions of the areas they are supposed to cover untouched. And the whole " unprofitable " bs just gets old.

| Fool me once, Fool me twice, Not gonna fool me thrice I went to Comcast's new "Is it here yet?" part of their site, and even though it claims it's not here yet for my area, people I know [who live all over my Comcast coverage (new and old houses) area] are already getting 2mb up, while I'm still stuck at 786kb, and I'm paying for performance plus while their only playing for performance and I'm also closer to the Comcast CO then them also. Also, this isn't gonna be able to compete with Verizon's fios option. | |
