Cutting spending is what America should be doing

There is a vast difference between the great depression and this one. Back in the 30's America wasn't running a deficit. This time America is bordering on third world status and by spending more money it will guarantee America a place with Argentina and Mexico as another third world nation. Individuals have to be accountable for their laziness and poor business decisions. They have to learn and spending money teaches them the opposite of what they should be learning. Companies and corporations have to be accountable for their thievery by the Ceos via stock options and bonuses and bending all accounting rules. They too must learn, Obama and the government must also learn to keep their noses out of America's future and keep America a free enterprise economy not turn it into another socialist nation.

Where do you draw the line on that? For example, zoning laws help protect you from someone disposing of their property (the basis of capitalism) in anyway they see fit. Are you saying you should be held accountable for your decision to buy a house without sufficient property to shield you from a neighbor who may choose to convert their house into a late-night biker bar?

If that's what you're saying, then your views are entirely irreverent because the vast majority of Americans wouldn't want to live in such a libertarian utopia.

If it's not what you're saying, then you're selectively defining the term "socialist" to be everyone else -- while you enjoy a good tug at the social nipple too.
