I thought it was. I used to work for Charter in their phone department and we had a 24 hour window to get phones fixed in the St. Louis area, Illinois side included. I may be remembering that wrong though.

Comcast does to, but thats more of a "company policy" - not a local/state/federal law. Companies - or rather humans (in general) make mistakes. Laws punish mistakes, company policy is more of guidelines and a reason to credit.

I also used to work for Charter's TTM department. I remember a manager stating that the 24 hour window rule was mandated by FCC.

If Charter leaves a no dial tone issue out past 24 hours, FCC fines Charter.

I'm lucky if they fix their own mistakes within 24 hours, like when they disconnect my offices main number when we tried to change the phone number on a fax line and when they "fixed" that they had actually disconnected both lines. It took about 3 days to get it sorted out.

Good work, Mr. AG!

Keep AT&T's feet to the fire. That's what they get for union-busting.

BTW if my phone goes out at 7PM, they don't have to wait until 9AM. I'm a night owl. They can show up at 11PM or even 1AM. At 9AM I'm liable to be asleep .

Re: Good work, Mr. AG!

That'll never happen.
AT&T killed my phone + ADSL on a Friday evening (contractors on VRAD) and wouldn't come to fix it until Monday (actually scheduled me for Tuesday as the earliest ).

AT$T versus Connecticut AG

Let me ask this question:

Which would respond quicker and better to a request for assistance, AT&T's service department or the Connecticut Attorney General's office?

You asked a rhetorical question. The answer is the CAGO.

Connecticut’s clock runs continuously. So if a customer calls at 7 p.m. but does not want us to show up until after 9 a.m. the next morning we are already at a loss of 14 of our 24 hours to make repairs.

-AT&T, on customer service in CT

I call bullshit on this. I asked for them to come the next day, and an hour later there was a tech knockin on my door, with the excuse, were backed up so there wanting us to get to these asap.

Your damn right critique against At&t is unfair!

It's as unfair as the critism for AIG's parties.

Why, At&t may just hafta point the middle finger at all customers and continue down this path even!

The customers are nothing but assholes trying to piss on poor at&t.

How dare they even try to get their money's worth? Why can't they let the executives have their parties and their golden parachutes, how dare these asshole customers care about their money and their homes?!

And please don't kill me guys, this is sarcasm. Although I'm probably very close to what goes on in board meetings in alot of giant corps right now...

Lucky

I guess I got lucky. The last time I called ATT for service there was a truck outside working within 3 hours and service was back within the hour after that point.

"AT&T responds to 100% of customer inquiries within 10 sec"

Bloom goes on to claim that AT&T responds to 100% of customer inquiries within 10 seconds or less
How is that so? It always takes me at least 15 minutes to get through Mr. Robot to get in to be on hold for 20 minutes to get a person that will then transfer me to the person who can transfer me to the person who's actually the CS dept like I asked Mr. Robot to send me to. It gets extra annoying when they need to have me call them back with a transfer code then give the new person my number so they can call me back because they "need to initiate the call".

Their current average with me is 3-8 days for a tech to come out, and 1-3 weeks after that for the problem to finally be resolved.

Waah..waah..cry me a handful...

they can either step down and shut up, or they can be ready to be ousted in a far more rougher fashion.

I have no sympathy for any corporation that has stifled, and killed innovation in the world.
