Verizon offers Samsung Omnia touchscreen iPhone fighter

»news.yahoo.com/s/nf/20081126/bs_nf/63274
On Wednesday, Verizon Wireless and Samsung Telecommunications America brought the Samsung Omnia to market for the holiday shopping season. The newest Samsung device offers a touchscreen, a customizable user interface, and Windows Mobile 6.1 capabilities.

TouchWiz offers widgets that let users customize and personalize the way they use the phone by using icons to offer one-touch access to customers' favorite and most commonly used applications and features.

The Omnia also has a full on-screen QWERTY keyboard for text messaging, mobile IM, and e-mail messages. The haptic feedback on the touchscreen provides subtle vibrations to confirm selections. And an optical mouse provides easy navigation with finger swipes. It supports the Opera 9.5 Mobile browser. A true multimedia phone, the Omnia has a 5.0-megapixel camera with digital zoom and power LED flash, a camcorder, stereo Bluetooth wireless, and Wi-Fi. An FM radio is built into the device.

Verizon Wireless has priced the Samsung Omnia at $249.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.

 Verdict in MySpace Suicide Case

A federal jury here convicted a Missouri woman of three misdemeanor charges of computer fraud for her involvement in creating a phony account on MySpace to trick a teenager, who later committed suicide. The defendant, Lori Drew, 49, faces up to three years in prison and $300,000 in fines, according to federal sentencing guidelines.
Lori Drew is a lowlife despicable human being and the way they got her may not have been kosher but it was justice, and she deserves everything happening to her.

And the family of the dead girl should also sue her in to financial oblivion as well.

Agreeing with you twice in one month, I am beginning to get concerned. Even after she gets out she should change her name and move elsewhere. She is really not too popular around here and if a jury were given any excuse (in a trial of someone who would knock her off) to let them off, they would.

Last I heard the law suit was on hold until her criminal trial finished. Hopefully they will take her to the cleaners.

look at this peice if shit. Gets a slap onth wrist and STILL wants to appeal.

"After the verdicts were read, Drew's defense attorneys said they intend to file a motion for a new trial on the misdemeanor counts. That motion must be filed by December 29. "

Sorry, but how does she think she is NOT guilty of these

"Drew was convicted of three counts of accessing protected computers without authorization to obtain information to inflict emotional distress on Meier. "

She knows she is, so she should consider herself lucky that's all she got found guilty of and take what little punishment she'll get.

Cybercriminals (spammers included) need to be hounded and pursued to the ends of the earth. No matter where they set up shop, they need to be taken down swiftly to make such activity unprofitable.

Trouble is in places like parts of China, Russia, the Ukraine and other areas in that part of the world, there is always going to be a haven for this type of crime.

Ongoing Terrorist Massacre in India

What a mess. It's still going on... Shootings, murders, kidnappings, bombs, arson, all targeted at Jews, Americans, and Britons, apparently.

You know seriously.... I think American companies should think twice about relocating jobs outside the USA. They risk disasters like this.

Collective solution to accessing the internet via satellite

What's wrong with Iridium? Low Earth Orbit = less delay.
