Naa, Comcast isn't scared

LOL, the standard line from Comcast. We're not afraid of competition.

My ass.

Everyone I talk to in my circle of friends & neighbors can't wait to ditch Comcast in favor of FiOS TV.

And it doesn't even matter if it's 1 bit better, or 1 cent cheaper. We're all just sick of being knocked over the head by Comcast all these years.

It'll be a refreshing change to be swatted around by Verizon for a while.

But at least then I can threaten to switch back to Comcast, or vice versa....

Comcast home town the most HD starved region they serve.....

Comcast better give us some more HD here in Philly or just GTF out of the way of Verizon.

This is nothing but a turf war. Comcast doesn't want Verizon in there home city. Comcast is afraid of losing customers. Rather than trying to provide better services for customers its spending money on getting rid of Verizon who could provide much better.

Simple Facts
1) Comcast afraid of losing customers
2) Comcast not afraid of losing money (willing to spend to keep Verizon out)
3) Customer HD quality stinks (Severe Compression)
4) Comcast has unreliable service (Internet)
5) Verizon doesn't compress there HD
6) Verizon has high internet speeds
7) Comcast has more VOD offerings
8) Verizon has better Picture Quality
9) Verizon requires a STB to view any programming
10) Verizon is all digital
11) Comcast charges for HD

and so on.

And where are the Comcast fanboys?

Comcast calling for no competition is like the pot calling the kettle black. There is NO WAY Comcast can defend this stupidity.

The very same things Comcast is accusing Verizon of doing are the same things Comcast has done on their own.

Sorry, but all this will do is make a few council members' campaign coffers a bit richer.

mind one's own business...

Comcast shouldn't be concerned what Verizon will or won't do... that's up to customers to buy the service or not. It goes without saying that the most profitable areas will see deployment first... that's EXACTLY what Comcast is interested in slowing down.. a cable company could give a sh*t about what actually happens until it takes money off their bottom line financial statement. Let competition begin! Even if it's Right on the same block as Comcast's Philly Headquarters!

Re: scumcast and the phony company

taken, an interesting thought, why do you thing that internet access should be free to all? First of all, to even consider that, internet access would have to be elevated to the level of a utility, which, at this time, it is not. Then given internet access is elevated to utility status, please provide examples where any other utility is free to all, i.e., electric, water, sewer, natural gas, telephone?

The internet is free for all.

Just go to your public library. They have several PCs hooked up to the internet and you can use them for free.

Its just getting the internet at home or on your mobile that costs money. For that convenience, you have to pay. But I suppose that you want someone else to pay for it, don't you?

They're waiting to download their latest talking points from Roberts. Perhaps they're over their cap and will have to wait 'till their next billing cycle.

It still costs money, to taxpayers. Nothing is free.
