Personally, I'm fine with loaning 2.3B to get the network off the ground, much happier with that than giving hundreds of billions to banks. Yech. |

said by DannyZ :what? There's no mention of a "bailout". But the company needs an additional $2 billion to $2.3 billion |

Bailout? Why would a NEW network ask for a bailout in the first place? You need to pay more attention to the news. |

We should hear soon about Google Android powered devices using WiMAX. I think that was a very smart move for Google since one of the main applications that will benefit from WiMAX is video and you remember Google owns youtube.

Clearwire in principle is great. But in practice, there are plenty of times of day when the service slows down too much. Just now, I started off a few minutes ago with a nice 25ms ping and 1.5Mbps. Then I played Unreal Tournament for all of 10 minutes...suddenly my speed dropped to 512Kbps and my ping to 57ms. It often goes lower after streaming or game playing.
Does clearwire throttle? Is it just hosed up at peak hours? I think they need to fix the problem or they'll lose as many customers as they gain.
I am willing to pay double what I pay now for a guaranteed, all hours, unlimited 2M-3Mbps throughput. Buy you know what? There is no one in the US who will sell that to me!
Add to the frustration that Europeans and Japanese get 30 to 50 Mbps from their phone companies as a matter of course!! |

I'd pay 65 a month for a solid 3mbps connection with low latency... But I as well can't seem to find anyone to sell it to me..
Come on.. Let me be the wasteful customer I want to be!!
That and i'd love to play with stuff like netflix's video streaming and other services (( don't forget gaming folks! )).. But till I get the net services i crave... I'll continue to polish my guns and behave like a good O boy |

| Well considering a lot of providers are paying more than $20 per Mbps from THEIR tier one providers, I would say you aren't going to get your CIR 3-6Mbps at $65 a month.
Oversubscription and method of transport are delaying the adoption of faster rates available to the consumer.
We need more fiber to the home and more tier one providers selling bandwidth at like $1 a Mbps. |

You can get a guaranteed speed 24/7 with 99.99 percent up time. Go business class and get 2 T1s. |

@raytheon.com | More expensive?
The rates on their new website are quite a bit higher than current Xohm rates. Will they continue to honor the Xohm rates for people who have signed up? Especially the $50 for life plan. |

so how are people getting 10mbps connections for 59.95 a month from comcast etc? Is it only impossible for people in soo called rural areas which is a cheap way of labling people unservicable cause they are not in a dense city area? Pathetic excuse/reason.. Simply that.. If you have rights for an area, you better be supporting it.. Otherwise, I say you should lose it and allow someone else to provide service without strong arming them.. |
