Congratulations

Nice job from a decent human being with some values! Nothing to do with Comcast other than the fact he happens to work for them. There are a few people left in the world that still have a conscience and values and a concern for their fellow man. His parents must have raised him right.
This Bud's for you!

We are very Proud of our Son and Older brother.

Jorge Rivera Is our son.. We are very happy of what our son has done...but much more happier that their were NO lives taken away because of the fire. All the negativity we had read about the company is'nt right. Yes Jorge was on call at the job..but all he did was help just like anybody else would..he didnt do it to get fame he did it to help. all that matter's is that everybody was helped out the building safely. he has made us proud, his two sons proud and his 2 little sisters. We r proud of you son.

Congratulations on having a wonderful son. His courage and selflessness is a wonderful Christmas gift for those he saved, and an inspiration for the rest of us.

now the big question:

Was the tech the one that set the apartment on fire?

It was all for the modems!

Pfft, he was just going to save their modems and DCTs! Those people simply used his ladder without authorization! Comcast should sue THEM!

A great story compared to all the other bad stuff happening in the news. The better make sure he has a job for life there and a good raise.

Was this a good deed ?

Several years ago while I was a DiSH net tech I helped a police officer get his keys out of his patrol car with a cable fishing rod in the wal mart parking lot. Was this a good deed ?

What a sad world this is.....

What kind of society do we have that we cannot leave a good humanitarian story alone? And for a matter of fact for you ignorant idiots, companies DO CARE what their employees do. There is ALWAYS liabiity issues not because companies don't care about helping people, but being sued has become second nature in this country. On top of that, safety is important for all!

Thank goodness these rescued individuals saw the blessing in one man who took the time to do what is right and at the same time, not neglect his work. I've seen these techs do a lot more including being courteous on the road which is far from what I can say about majority of the people driving in this country.

Sadly, I've known techs who have lost loved ones only to be at work immediately after due to the guilt of "the customer is waiting for their cable." Some of you get to close your office doors if you're having a bad day....these techs don't...they have to face you and listen to your whining and complaining. Next time call 911 if you need your internet that badly since it is a life and death situation.

read in a company newsletter of the heroics of an employee but ,it was carefully worded " after notifying his local manager, he swiftly pulled the .............. "

I'm so sick of the bullsh**, c'mon you're in the real world. Things don't happen in slo-mo. After all , we are human beings.
