Trained? Really?

Whole thing sounds made up. I've never met a Walmart employee who was trained to do anything but look confused.

Just like the Wal-Mart Wii...

The Wii at Wal-Mart is about $1 cheaper as well...nothing to special.

The usual training they get:

Roll over

Play Dead

Sit

Heel

I finally broke down and bought one last week after hearing how great it is..

I'm finding out it's more of a love-hate relationship..

I love some of the things it does, but absolutely hate others..

If I was working for minimum wage and no type of benefits and you strolled by asking me for help I'd look at you the same way! A blank stare and thinking to myself WOW he thinks I'm the lowest form of human existence but yet he is asking me for assistance and as you walk away from me thinking I'm the stupidest human on earth I'd look back at you like you're the craziest customer on earth ahahaha

Re: Just like the Wal-Mart Wii...

It's nothing special in terms of price, but it certainly is in terms of Apple getting the phone displays in front of consumer's noses. Wal*Mart obviously has a huge retail footprint.

Nerd snobs is right and they give all of us nerds a really bad rep. Walmart staff are people: some good some not so good, rather like the denizens of DSLreports.

Or give you attitude when you politely ask for help.

Most of my friends love the gadget portion of the phone. Internet, maps, apps, etc.

But, most say the phone portion is crappy.

I had a Palm Treo for about 4 days. I HATED it. It was too big, too clunky, and didn't do the things I needed, mainly e-mail, well.

I wanted an iPhone when it first came out, but I wanted to stay with Verizon. Now, I think I'll be going with a Crackberry when my contract is up in May. Not necessarily the Storm, but something with push e-mail & a QWERTY keyboard.

A friend has an iPhone and it's pretty nice. What I hate is trying to help them get songs onto it. iTunes has to be one of the worst programs I've encountered (for usability) in a long time.

You are an anomaly in not finding happy iPhone users.

All the studies I've seen have iPhone near the top of the list, soundly beating smartphone competitors like RIM.

I get a much better attitude from Wal*Mart workers than I ever do from support associates in the tech industry with the exception of Megapath.

Consider yourself lucky then. The crop of Wal-Mart employees I've seen, mainly in the Southeast, are not afraid to make it plain as can be that they would rather be someplace else...

"You are an anomaly in not finding happy iPhone users.".

It could be that all of the people I know that have iPhones are also co workers...

I don't deny the iPhone is both well liked and popular, I was just citing my personal experience.

I certainly don't doubt your chart, especially the rating on the Palm. I hated that thing.
