Bring back the "Your" item on the menu

I miss the "Your" option on the menu to the left of the main page. I used it all the time to get to my favorite forums and to check my posts for replies.

Granted I can still do all hat but it takes a few more mouse clicks than it used to.

[easy] Speed test result archive, allow more characters for inp

When looking at the speedtest result archives, you can get a listing for a specific ISP's region by its hostmask.

So, for example, if I want to see Road Runner Socal, I can type "socal.rr.com", or even "biz.socal.rr.com" to limit the results to socal's business class. That works great!

But there is a 20 character input limit on that field. Now that I'm on AT&T U-verse, that isn't nearly enough space to describe U-verse hosts, which look like this:

xxxx.lightspeed.irvnca.sbcglobal.net

Just the regional portion alone is 32 characters in length!

If that space could be upped to 40 or more it would be helpful.

anon thumbs up/down

Is there a reason Thumbs down button is above Thumbs up for anon posters?

I just fat fingered it and had to correct it.

Seems like poor ergonomics to me.

Fix The Tab In BBR Feedback

You renamed the forum "Non-forum Feature Requests" to "Site Feature Requests" several days ago (an excellent change). Yet the tab which labels it still reads "Non-forum Feature Requests".

This confuses me slightly, and I participated in the thread discussing (at great length) the forum name change. Those who did not participate, and are unaware of the history, may be still more confused by the disparity.

This is a disturbing disparity, and seemingly a trivial change. Please mitigate it.

site makeover?

Will you guys be giving the site a new makeover soon?
(maybe categorizing the news stories IE cox and comcast, etc would have their own pages that we could boomark or RSS)

so if a newsstory came out, we wouldn't have to dig.

Line Quality Testing

Traceroutes and ping tests are frequently misunderstood. Can you please put some better wording / explanation in the line quality testing?

e.g

Instead of showing RED on individual hops, reference http://www.dslreports.com/faq/14068
explain about loss/latency starting point e.g
- Far end on is source ISP of content hoster
- Midway to home could be exchange points
- Last hop/home without previous hop could be home network or last mile
Explain that if loss is in the last hop, look at signals and test after remove splitters, wireless, routers, etc

This may help people help themselves

It would be nice if an email or text message could be sent out if dslr goes offline or is planning to go offline for any period of time.

Many times I have come home, fired up the computer, and found out that the site is down for either maintenance or some other reason and it would be nice to know ahead of time. If you want to stay informed, then sign!

Viewing post from Ignored posters.

Most of the time, I can care less what someone post. What I would like to see changed is when an Ignored Users' post including the entire thread in unavailable for viewing.

For instance, I recently Ignored a user in the Weather forum. The topic in question concerned Hurricane Bertha and this person in question started the thread. Therefore, the entire thread is not available for me to view.

What I am proposing is to keep the Ignored Users post but, allow their topics to be available for browsing for all users!

Request "User-Customizable Option Link Page"

After you log in, it would be nice to have the ability to Customize what page you see after you log in.

A "Customizable Options Page"

Instead of just seeing the same page over and over after the user logs in, this would give the user more options on what the user would like to see after logging in.

Here are some examples of what kind of control this would give the user, to diplaying a particular page automatically the user would set it up in the:

"Customizable Link Options Page"

An example below:

After log in Go Directly to:

1. Goto "PAGE (YOUR)"
2. Goto "Favorite Forums"
3. Goto "Updated Posts"
4. Goto "Buddies"
5. Goto "Posts"
6. Goto "Hot topics"

Or what ever the user specifies in the Options page, so that the user has the choice & ability to choose after logging in there favorite page to be displayed automatically.

For example when I login I would like to automatically see "Page" to be displayed automatically after I log in, without having to click on Members then Page.

You may like a different page to be displayed as shown above.

This instead of having to use the "mini bar" to get to the page you want.
