You mean AOL knows best when it comes to internet bloatware. Whenever I troubleshoot connections, I look for AOL software first. They use those "walled garden" protocols that don't work well with Windows, or any OS for that matter.

I left AOL long ago, its been 3 years now. I left cause of broadband and the fact that I am not tied to any one PC with a piece of software. I can use Firefox to access anything anywhere.

With AOL, most of the content is locked into special AOL addresses like aol://90.2.1.12, that way ONLY AOL users can access it. This view of internet infrasturcture is bad, since it keeps the good implementations out of the system design.
